nice job pete ! last time i spoke to tim he said he was going to get some pics of your crane handy work on a monday looks like an adrenalin packed few days!have not seen any pics of your lorry in action looks a handy bit of kit to have...

 

 

Not got many good pics of my truck, every time its goes out I'm too busy to stop and get any. Must make more of an effort!

2 hopefully, the last section weighed 6.5 tonnes, which considering the rest of the tree combined only added up to 9.3 tonnes came as a bit of a surprise. Not least to the crane driver, who only had 5 tonnes of capacity at that reach......

 

We noticed that on a dead redwood we milled- very dry and light timber for the top 2/3rds but wringing wet at the bottom. I'm not sure if the trees dry out 'upwards' through the twig and remaining needle or whether the sap/ moisture sinks 'downwards' and leaves a dry top :confused1:
