You can tow the 2800kg but the GTW should still be complied with by not loafing the van to its max. However GTW is not directly enforcable.

So technically the van can be loaded to the mythical 3500. But i can also tow the 2800 behindnit as the logbook says even thought the vin plate says different?

I tow 1850kg behind the transit daily, quite often 2250kg and it handles it fine. Esp with a remap.

One problem for you Bob may be that theres a lot of drivers? Im owner operator

Im als considering buying a towbehind chipper to go along side the tracky again, just sick of looking!!!

How many miles do you get on average Bob and how big of a job is it?

Are most modern trannys not also on liquid flywheels?

Most are the dual mass flywheel but there are solid flywheel conversions.

That looks like its had a few aggressive drivers to rip the friction material off.

Should easy get 60k out of one.

Easy job if you wanted, clutch kit about 100.00 flywheel maybe 150-200.00 labour at a garage not much

Yeah it's a bit like cutting trees, money for nothing and your chips for free.

Investment in hardware probably around £1500. It takes at least an hour to split the ecu, download the map, upload it, have the new map written, download that to your laptop and then upload it to the ecu, and put it back together.

Significantly longer if the ecu needs heating to split.

Plus you still have to pay for the rewritten map, the investment required to write your own maps is on another level altogether.

I would say £200 is a bit too cheap, and wonder what exactly you get. I certainly couldn't afford to send my ecu away by post.

I use Quantum Tuning, think they say £350 plus, although my mechanic does me a very good deal. The results are very good on Diesel engines, although bear in mind you only get more power by burning more fuel.

Our fitter can do them in about an hour Sky, it takes me about two:blushing: I always go for the solid flywheel conversion which is about £250 complete, they last two years + if there are no clowns driving them.
