I saw this: Workman fined £150 in Canterbury for not displaying 'No Smoking' sign in his own van | Daily Mail Online

And then wondered how may people here have a no smoking sign in their trucks? Something to be aware of if you're working around towns especially.

The article seems based on the law: https://www.gov.uk/smoking-at-work-the-law

(Apologies if it's been posted before or common knowledge).

If I put one up that would mean I can't smoke in the truck surely...

You would be obliged to arrest your self and take your self to prison .

I think here in France that you get fined for NOT smoking in a wagon. You need full breathing apparatus if you ride alongside a French workman, like being in a London peasouper in the old days .

If anyone lit up in my truck, they would be out the door with my old boot behind them.

Rightly so, I actually smoke but wouldn't smoke in someone else's vehicle if they were a non smoker even they they said it was ok. I don't know what's wrong with some people, at the very least you'd ask if it was ok rather than just lighting up and frankly if the driver was a non smoker you shouldn't even consider it.

Clearly their Christmas budget needed topping up and helped themselves to the poor guys hard earned money. Absolutely pathetic! Hopefully karma fights back!
