I'm not sure satire has ever changed politics, after all our quasi democracy depends on committees that have their own agendas to select candidates.

 

I saw how flawed american foreign policy was in my youth and it has only got worse fifty years later. Not being a fan of their politicians at all but this seems to show some americans realise what they have done.

 

Heaven help the Taiwanese now, they don't have rare minerals the americans want.

They should get this bloke a regular slot on the BBC, to tell things as they really are. He might have to sanitise his delivery somewhat.

He did for a while on BBC sounds.

 

I suspect despite his political content he's a closet Tory.

 

Laura kuensberg was a not so in the closet Tory and stuck out like a sore thumb at the BBC from what friends have said.

Bernie Sanders should have been President and Corbyn should probably have been PM, targeted social media put a lid on that.

You're right, about him being on the BBC, Id forgotten that. It was a late night comedy program on live radio. Not really that funny, the couple of times I heard it. I meant in a serious political commentary type of role though.

It might work on say ITV or C4 but the BBC have to try to whole impartiality thing even with comedy, granted that's probably 90% Tory bashing and a weak labour joke from the audience.

 

YouTube is pretty much what ever within reason, but he does do actual standup shows.

 

Granted from a standup perspective, unlike the unfunny Ben Elton/eddy izzard he is pretty even handed regardless who's in power.

Without making a political point, there are few right wing comedians out there at all, it doesn't lend itself to humour. Bashing individuals works regardless of political stance and deserved too in many cases. Never rated Ben Elton, not funny, Eddie Izzard is hit and miss.

Watched Ricky Gervais a couple of nights ago in Glasgow 

Nothing out of bounds, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Gay, Straight, Labour, disabled, LGBTQ alphabet people etc etc they all got tanned big time. Absolutely brilliant gig, if you appreciate free speech.
