Tools worthy of a mention.

Every now and again a tool , socket sets , spanners or a gadget comes on the market that impresses so post them up.

Kicking off with a 12" shifter I bought that actually gets in places others dont because of the lack of bulk. This one is thin and strong enough to undo hydraulic pipes that are laid in rows on the arm of a digger. Its found a place in the truck and has proven useful:thumbup1:

Victorinox Spirit plier multitool - Most useful thing all round I've ever bought. The weatherman style tools were great when they were invented, and some of the real lethermans are good, but really this tool beats everything out there by a wide margin. Its built like a surgical instrument...wouldnt surprise me to learn that its been used as a surgical instrument!

I've receintly picked up one of these mini water pump pliers, they have more positions and they stay where you want them due to the locking button.

I'm defo gonna get a larger set

I've had a couple of Knipex items snap with me over the last couple of years, and they were both being worked comfortably within the limits of what they're supposed to be capable of.

Pretty disappointed especially given how good they used to be.

My leatherman is used at least once a day, I'd be genuinely lost without it

I am surprised at the knipex comments, I have always found their gear top notch. Maybe things have gone downhill.

Aspen, what width will they open too?

My crusher has a bank of 27mm in a control valve that are hard to undo, without undoing the ones next to it

Your pictures not showing :(

Photobucket is down at the moment but the pics will reappear eventually, they open up to 60mm.

Snapon spanners are not bulky but the the shifter is about 10mm narrower overall than a 1 1/16" open ender which makes a huge difference in tight spaces. On the bigger sizes more so.
