Am I missing something?

So if you look at the employment, section on here ,there's a crying demand for climbers, full time and free lance, but we have 2.5 million unemployed, surely we should be contacting colleges and schools to say forget your £50k debt for a job that's not there with a degree ,and get yourself a tree surgery qualification/ full ticket job? Cause I and every other person I talk too are crying out for a honest/ trustworthy bloke to work with, who's willing to work and learn the trade. Should I send the recruitment page on here to merriest wood etc? Thoughts?:confused1:

not to stir up the old climbers wages debate but whats required of a climber? honesty, trustworthyness, clued in, physically fit, prepared to work their socks off every day, operate dangerous equipment (at dangerous heights)that can kill and maim, short career prospects, high risk of repetitive strain issues in later life etc. for as little as £80 a day. Hmmmmm sign me up:thumbup:

Surely the 2.5 million unemployed will include all the lard arses who would rather spend a their hand-outs on scratch cards, bingo, 10 bag, white stripe, fags, horse racing etc.

These people would never do anything pro-active like get trained up or do a days work.

If people really wanted to go earn money, theres usually nothing to stop them.

There are a few who need help because they are not able to work through no fault of their own, I don't know how many, but I see a lot of sponging free-loaders roaming the streets while we are grafting. Rant over.

Plenty of tree guys round these parts - last thing we need is more.
