Can you make glyphosate or whatever poison into a jelly? It could be cast over a patch and left to sit and dribble with gravity and time. Like a block of it under an upturned bath for a couple of years. As it happens, I don’t like poisons and I’d rather digger and mattock it out, but should Monsanto see this and make millions, I want my cut.

My post comes in two parts. In the first part I shall be facaetious. In the second I shall be helpful. Husky doesn’t start. Fuccking imagine that. There are particular 550s and 560s well known for being difficult starting hot, quite possibly fixed on revised models (mk2 etc). I don’t know anything about Huskys (other than that they don’t start) but now I’ve prompted it, someone who does know is likely to weigh in on the matter with actual help.

Glad it’s not just me who finds the whole thing impenetrable. It’s what keeps you going down to (expensive) trade counters and asking for one of these please. The bloke still got it wrong last time. At least this particular trade counter I can cycle to.

Thanks for your replies. It's Natural England. I do regular tree surgery and coppicing/felling work for them. Part of the annual woodland management is fencing around freshly cut areas. Normally they provide materials but I thought I could get some extra work with my Lucas Mill. It also ticks their box of using available materials. I will talk to them about experience rather than paper tickets. They are supportive, it's just that they have to follow their paperwork framework...

Retopping a leylandii jungle, one of the widest I've been in and a pain to throw the tops. It was very hot up there yesterday! Lots of dead in the middle that was constantly catching on my gear and rope. There was also a multi stem holly I pruned, horrible things! VID_20250618_102756.mp4 Then I saw this on the way home. Ladders and a bowsaw! The second ladder was stacked sideways on the limb. Old guy, working on his own and it would have ended badly! I had to stop and see what he was doing. He wanted it raised above his driveway - I had the pole stick so it was a 5 min job to clear all the lower stuff I didnt charge but he gave me some beer money.

I am new to Chainsaw milling [faqs reworked]
Gareth Woolley replied to Rob D's topic in Panther Mill UK
They were straight when I got them and have stayed straight. the only down side to this frame is that my milling attachment doesn’t touch the log and so if I cut a deep slab or cut a few boards from the same rail setting by dropping the milling attachment end posts, I do get juddering of the saw across the cut. The milled boards look awesome but I have a plan to add an extendable or sprung loaded guide wheel to the milling attachment bar jaw so the wheel runs along with the cut on the log. The juddering got so bad on the last big log it shook the threads out of my 070 air filter support bar ( the one that runs through the loop of the choke lever) Im ordering a bunch of spares shortly for it but this big frame is only used on the big logs. I use 2 rails and log end brackets for logs up to 3’ diameter -
Good Morning All.

"Smart chargers" I have found to be cheap rubbish and often dont appear to do work. Single button and a few LED's doesnt make it smart. Lead acid batteries are extremely basic to charge anyway. What I'd recommend is a lipo charger from the RC world - these actually are smart and can do nearly every different battery type. The advantage is they also do discharge, most have a screen and can tell you exactly how much charge has gone in or out of the battery, so you get a fair idea of its condition. As a general rule, manufacturers over spec lead batteries about 4x what they need to, as they degrade over time. When they get down to a third or quater capacity, its time to replace.
