  1. Past hour
  2. Yes I think this looks likely. Looking closely at it, it definitely seems like a growth from the tree rather than a cocoon or similar
  3. πŸ€” Indeed
  4. Mine uses a remote. If I lose it, it is relatively easy to replace and partner up.
  5. Today
  6. Hi all - I'm looking for a useable set of second hand spikes to buy in the UK. Based near Melksham (Wiltshire) but can arrange postage. If anyone has anything they are wanting to part with, let me know. Ta
  7. and Galls caused by Bacteria, Virus, or unknown causer | NatureSpot
  8. Rhizobium radiobacter – Bacterial Plant Diseases Programme Crown gall: Causes, Symptoms & Control | RHS Advice
  9. Wordle 1,668 6/6 🟨⬜⬜🟨⬜ ⬜🟨🟩🟨⬜ 🟨⬜🟩⬜⬜ ⬜🟨🟩⬜🟨 ⬜🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Sketched that right up. Pig's ear.
  10. Perhaps a gall caused by a microorganism (bacterium, virus) rather than mite or insect. Some galls have unknown causes.
  11. And that level of service is why I keep getting a Forst chipper!
  12. It looks to me like vegetative growth produced by the tree itself in response to something, but its appearance isn't like any of the willow galls I've seen illustrated.
  13. KatieK

    Katie and James

Happy for you to tip in the front driveway.
  14. AHPP

    Old gloves

Deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall.
  15. if you still have the cutting I would suggest trimming it and placing it in a empty jam jar with air holes in lid by puncturing with fork. That way if a creature emerges one day you can look at it and the glass will protect you and it

    Old gloves

Just in case anyone else is as stupid as I am and keeps old gloves on the off chance you’ll one day sew a few fingers up and make some usable pairs. Fhucking forget it. Put them on the fire and live your life. IMG_6242.mov
  19. Entomologist perchance?
  20. I did see one at Banbury Cross.
  21. Freelance climber is the best term in England. It sounds the most like the actual legal relationship in 99.9% of cases, that being a labour only subcontractor as opposed to a bona fide subcontractor. Contract climber gives the (false) impression that you can contract out of what the law will deem the relationship to be. Possibly correct in America. No idea what the law is there. Just let them use it anyway.
  22. You may be flogging a dead horse here.
  23. Stop the boats!
  24. You'll never see a white horse using them. Fhcking disgraceful.
  25. motorised jockey wheel on anything other than perfectly flat concrete is about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike. the tyres are not aggressive enough, and even if they were they have almost no ground clearance, added to that little or no nose weight and you ain't going nowhere fast. the type that use the trailer wheels are much better as shown by Ty Korrigan are the way to go, but you may need to experiment with tyre types as some are better than others.if you require grip fit a more aggressive tyre pattern, fitting a twin jockey wheel is a great help to in stopping sinking in soft ground. it is possible to with a little back yard ingenuity have the whole thing operated by remote control,, even wireless. I've even seen a set up with a seat and steering bars fitted so you can practically drive it like a trike.
  26. This sycamore came down at Christmas, luckily only some shrub damage, and a few fence posts to fix. One of my favourite customers who have a lovely house in about 5 acres of woodland with some spectacular trees. (James Bond carp pond @Rich Rule!). Did some prep last week then got the Worky Quad into action today. Stokboard motorway for the win across the lawn. 2 more days busting it up and hauling the heavy back to the yard.
  27. When i get hired in with a mewp I usually end up doing at least 5x more cutting than I would do from a rope. The tendency is to one hand a out more too. It takes its toll on my right elbow/ shoulder
