I work with somone that uses Business Choice Direct for PL. His was roughtly Β£500 for the renewal but has been with them a few years. I was suprised that many insurers put a height exclusion - apparently the first time it was 10m, he didnt read it closely and a customer pointed out, so he had to phone up and got it changed. Anyone else had that? While we have to have it, its not really worth the paper its written on!

That's the business they are in, easy bloody money. Being a broker, assuming most companies we deal with are brokers, they just wack as much money on as they think they can get away with.

Iβve just received my renewal declaration from Trust. I doubt itβs going to be less than last year. Mate just had a Β£900 increase with his insurance company which he kicked off about so they reduced it to a Β£50 increase. Isnβt that just them admitting they were trying to rinse him for Β£850?
-
With trust here. Every year you now need to fill out a form detailing the different areas of your business and what percentage your turnover is of each sector. I find it tedious as nothing changes in my situation, bit like the National Trust asking for my tickets every blasted year, see the fecking email I sent you last year and forward it onto yourself you jeb!

Kohler command 38 pro efi fueling problems.

Mechanic found an exposed/earthed wire that controlled the injector. This was causing it to over fuel and spray fluid like Katie Price at a Man United Christmas party. He fixed that and it seems to run ok. He wants to fit original spark plugs and finish tuning this week. We will know if the engines ok when we put it in a stump. I am quietly hopeful. -

Stayed with them in the end, told them straight been doing trees for 30 plus years no claims, and would take business elsewhere. Came back with quote only a little bit more then last year. I have Β£10m cover, Broker is Performance Direct, can't remember who I found them years ago, just they did advertise on here.

I was thinking yesterday Iβd ask how he got on with the mechanic. Brighten our days, Mick.

*bump* @woody paul Sorry, just seen this -how did you get on? I'm currently struggling to get a reasonable renewal quote, for EL and PL insurance, here. Was with NFU for a couple of claim-free decades, until they decided to try and double my premium ! So then moved to Arborisk for 10+ (claim free) years, until they/Aviva wanted a 50% increase..whilst turnover etc declining.. So moved the policy to Howdens brokers last year (Β£1k), but now have that familiar sinking feeling -waiting for renewal quote with 'new' insurer... Tried trade specialist Consilio Brokers, who implied any EL and PL policy would really be starting at Β£1.5k There's a consistent 50% increase theme running here... I'm clearly in the wrong line of business -need to diversify into money printing/insurance! Meantime, can anyone else suggest brokers worth trying, pretty please ? π€

One thing I like about the ISC swivel is that it fits two Karabiners. Just a tidy place to keep a second Karabiner for MRS when you need it.

Ive always been lucky or unlucky you could say , the next pick up was fitted with rops as it came out of landrover , didnt fancy that again

Β£4500 OBO 7.5t Iveco lorry with arb body and tipper MOT until July 2026 (MOT history can be provided). Solid and reliable although shows some wear on the body. There is a logo decal on the truck, this has been erased in the photos for privacy and can be removed prior to sale. We no longer have operational staff with the correct driving qualifications so are not using the lorry more than a couple of times a year, hence the reason for sale. Located in Devon - could deliver in local area but otherwise buyer to collect.Β£4,500

The older stihl air filters were poor. I replaced mine with aftermarket max flow set ups. Really expensive now, but they are a good investment, especially for high use saws

I asked ISC, the spare swivels will be launched later in the year as they want to get whole devices out first. I'd prefer if it had a biner hole like the first zigzags, swivel just adds extra length to it. ISC also say on there website that they are working to get it recognised by ISA for competitions, at the bottom here, REFLEX Mechanical Hitch_EN12841 WWW.ISCWALES.COM REFLEX Mechanical Hitch_EN12841

I have a 460 that let in fine sawdust aswell even with the foam insert. I keep meaning to try and punch out a gasket with an old air filter. Let me know if you find a solution. Otherwise its an awesome size of saw that I find useful for felling and larger diameter wood. I found the bar oiling very stingy so I upgraded it to high output oiler. I got the saw wreaked so installed a meteor piston and cylinder. It also had the carb symptoms you describe - fixed with a carb kit. Honestly the time and money I have spent on this saw is extreme!

I'd say your are one lucky dude in that case! I hope that you bought a lottery ticket later that day. π€£
