  2. I know of a young chap (15-16 yrs of age) who is looking for work experience (perhaps even apprenticeship, if it all works out) near Aberystwyth. He is very keen on the outdoors and chainsaws in particular & he is on some sort of spectrum/ mildly neurodivergent as they call it nowadays I am based miles away in the SW but I wonder if anyone here could help. Many thanks.
  3. Ahh, our old favourite. Love it.
  4. There is a lot of interest in the ISC reflex at the minute. We have some info about it and the release date here ISC Reflex Mechanical Hitch - Skyland Equipment SKYLANDEQUIPMENT.COM The ISC REFLEX Mechanical Hitch is a mid-line attachable device for climbing up , down and around trees. We don't do pre orders as they can be far too much hassle for us and our customers but if anyone wants to be added to an order list then please email us here [email protected] or send a PM to me but its better to email as I'm not around on here enough. A shameless request but even if you aren't interested in the Reflex please click on the link to our web site above as its helps advertising with less funds going to google and more to arbtalk.

  7. Raise ya… Check out this video from this search, tahune tree day 3 https://share.google/suOFngss9HeWueQcw
  8. Looks interesting. If it's more cost effective than a blackbird might look into it. Current (still) considering the SJ3 to replace the ZZ but if this isn't years out, maybie
  9. It’s unbelievable Sime, and fair play to those boys. Did anyone else see the footage of that hench 14 year old putting all the stones on the barrels this week? I’m very lucky that at 56 I’ve never had any back issues. The rest of my body is a different story…. If I had to lift those stones though, I would just rig a contraption that fired my Beretta straight into my spine with a 36g load, because the result would be the same!
  10. It's becoming apparent that physical strength is as important as cardiovascular fitness, when it comes to ageing well. I'm on the look for a nice lifting stone. The Cumbrian man on a mission to revive stone lifting heritage WWW.BBC.CO.UK A Cumbria farmer is on a mission to track down England's ancient lifting stones.
  11. My son has been hitting Thai pads since he was 4 years old, he is 18 now. Trains at least 4-5 times a week. He does Brazilian JJ and Muay Thai. The emphasis in in whatever competition he has coming up. At the moment he is training for a Muay Thai fight next weekend. So the emphasis has been on the hitting and not the choking. I am a large supporter of hitting pads. Seems to just clear my head even though I am often hanging out my arse but it feels great afterwards.
  12. Firstly I would check that the alternator belt is tight ? Try unplugging the alternator and plugging it back in ? When you turn the ignition on and go through the countdown , what's the last thing on the display before the '0' ?
  13. Shift work itself, especially night shifts, are bad for health. Physical and mental.
  14. And the only time you see coppers is parked illegally outside a KFC or Dominos, on a 10 minute mid shift food stop.
  15. Does this model sense rpm off the back of the alternator? @Jase hutch should be along soon to answer this
  16. It may be something to do with the working environment and long hours. Twelve hour shifts stuck inside and whenever they get to sit down it's with tea and biscuits rather than proper meals.
  17. I see SKY are after buying ITV . 1.6 billion ?
  18. Agreed, boxing training is hard work. I had done some circuit training and thought I was fit. I did some shotokan in the past, but hadn't done hitting things for a while. Was encouranged by a mate to come along to a gym in Newcastle ran by an ex commando PTI who used to train boxing teams. That was a killer - fair play to anyone who does that sort of training day in day out. He would run 5 sessions a day - ran the same speed uphill as he did downhill, absolute menace but I learned alot. Lifting heavy things is good for you, too. My mental health dropped off when I stopped throwing trees into the back of a van, it took me a while to realise what I was missing.
  19. My lad has a pad session every other night after work . Christ knows where he gets the energy after a days graft cutting !
  20. Hello How much are you selling it for? Does it come with the expansion POD? What is the accuracy without the GNSS Expansion POD? What makes your older device superior in your opinion? Cheers
  21. There are situations where the Council could be compelled to prune or remove, either by court order or expectation of losing a court case. Dr. Mynors observes that these rarely occur because of the cost of litigation. But not because of the absence of a right. Proving the right of self-abatement is easier than proving the case for an injunction. Mere encroachment is abatable, full stop. Forcing the tree owner to do it and pay for it appears to have a higher threshold of 'actionable nuisance'. If it is based on dampness to the building a causative link would have to be proven. I am convinced that if case law continues to dribble out until the end of time there will never be a simple rule that predicts success in litigation. The Tate Modern case recently went on for pages trying to pin down the modern law of nuisance, going far beyond what was needed for the case in hand. It alsways comes down to fact and degree, and the behaviour and depth of pockets of the combatants. Put simply, the trees have no right to be there. If they are causing damage, even indirectly, they should be removed. It is probably easier and cheaper (however galling it might feel) to take matters into you own hands than to face the expense, delays and uncertainty of forcing the tree owner to do it. But the right exists to be enforced. Have a look at Delaware Mansions v Westminster (appeal) for more on rights to injunctions and damages.

  23. Best cardio in the world 42, set of pads and mits and work with someone or do some bag time. Reading that article the driving force is the coastguard which obviously provides last resort evacuation option for many platforms but it does have a significant impact upon what they can do with the general public at large. Maybe go the same route as the NHS and start and have XL wheelchair type options.
