    Jokes???

Andrew the drover from a huge cattle station in the Australian outback appeared before St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. "Have you ever done anything of particular merit?" St. Peter asked. "Well, I can think of one thing," the drover offered. "Once, on a trip to the back blocks of Broken Hill out in New South Wales, I came across a gang of bikers who were threatening a young sheila. I told them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen. So I approached the largest and most heavily tattooed biker and smacked him in the face, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring, and threw it on the ground I yelled, "Now, back off!! Or I'll kick the s**t out of the lot of ya! St. Peter was impressed, "When did this happen?" "A couple of minutes ago."
  3. For anyone not familiar with my politics, my sense of humour or taxes in England, VAT is a consumption tax and is already on brakes and tyres (and booze and fags). The more people wear out tyres and brakes, the more money the government gets. They're pro pollution. So I very obviously don't want more tax on tyres and brake pads. It wouldn't help anyway. No amount of money would. In fact it would increase pollution, people having to scurry about performing more economic activity to pay the higher tax. Between warfare, its other pointless and destructive activities and causing people to work excessively, the state is the worst polluter we have. Tax freedom day is the point in the year where you stop working to pay tax and start keeping what you earn. It falls later and later every year. This year it was 12th June. Imagine all the tyre and brake dust from those 162 out of 365 days simply not existing because people were at home instead. Now that's an environmental good.
  4. I do believe you've spread yourself too thin this evening: multiple pointless arguments, with multiple people, across multiple threads. That would explain the lack of any cohesive reasoning so far. Bet it gives you that good old buzz of battle though. I suspect it's futile, but go on then, I'll try one last attempt to squeeze a coherent point out of you. So, elaborate on waste of time. What to you constitutes a good use of time? Other than the aforementioned mock battles. Theoretical as opposed to facts and common sense. Elaboration required again. Which bits about cars belong in the left hand column, and which belong in the right hand column?
  5. Ive had a few 211's with the same issue. Its always been carb related and its always been new carb time. I have one in the workshop that if the customer doesn't come and collect it soon its get sold on, its probably been here for over 12 months!
  6. 😂😂No is that a navy thing that sailors used to indulge in before you were trusted to have “ females” on board, feel free to tell the forum your knowledge of the golden rivet. The place was filthy mind a ****************ing disgrace quite frankly for the senior service. Maybe too much riveting not enough cleaning 🤷‍♂️who knows eh. I came to a conclusion about you quite soon after you appeared lad, I’ve not been proven wrong so far. Leftard through and through 👍
  7. Just wondering, if i bought a big version of a 3d printer , could i make an Amanda Holden?
  8. Yes. Perhaps a consumption tax should apply to fattening, luxury foods. You could do the same thing to alcohol and cigarettes. It would stop people drinking and smoking.
  9. 😂 Try not to get too worked up before bedtime 42, no lies or anger eh 👍👍

    ArbDogs? Pics!

Poor old Sailor has a gammy eye. Could be something to do with headbutting his way through a heras panel earlier to eat a shot rat. He’s living the dream really. Doesn’t look obviously poked. Load of fairly normal wet gummy stuff in the tear duct corner. Doesn’t smell. Didn’t mind me prodding it but he is tolerant like that.
  12. Steven mentioned 🥰😂😂
  13. 😂😂😂😂😂 Easy lad
  14. There's plenty of multiculturalists here it's true, some good junglists too for that matter. But no, that was in the Nevada desert I think. Read the book. Have you been to Birmingham and had a bad experience or something? You've developed an odd preoccupation with the place recently. I don't have team mates, or indeed even a team. (I think all that guff is only in your own head tbqh.) I don't know Beth Rigby, but if I've dodged a question then it was inadvertently. Feel free to repeat it if you need to, or forever hold your peace.
  15. Will fat people be charged more due to excess weight like? Asking for a friend.
  16. Missed that bit in amongst the slop. Steel wheels on steel rails. At least, until someone clever develops a strain of mycelium that's suitable for tyres. Brake pads - you dont need them with regenerative braking.
  17. Did someone try and show you the golden rivet when you were there? You've still no idea about conclusions have you?
  18. I suggest you read the article. You'll get a much better informed analysis of the whole topic. A lazy AI question doesn't really bring a lot to the discussion. I didn't ask why cars are getting heavier anyway, it's easy enough to work out. Safety is one of the lesser factors actually, it's behind consumer preference, electrification and increased profits for the car makers. What's the point of EVs if they're barely better overall, due to their increasing size? The only silver lining is the regenerative braking, as Steven mentioned. The stats on car usage are crazy; most journeys are single occupancy of vehicles designed to carry 5 people. Passenger safety might well be improved, but it's at the cost of safety of other road users. Have a look at how much more dangerous SUVs are for cyclists and pedestrians. And that's just talking about impact consequences, not even considering air quality. <Larger cars/suv’s etc already are taxed more 🤷‍♂️ HGV’s pay an astronomical amount to be on the road. If you can find an alternative to rubber tyres or a new brake pad material, let me know if you need any financial assistance to get it going, I reckon that could be a winner. 🤪> So tax them more then. If the numbers of SUVs are increasing then they're obviously not taxed enough. HGVs - what do you think is inside most of the HGVs on our roads? I expect it's consumer crap that people don't need to waste their money on. Probably mostly from China, to add insult to injury. Get freight back onto the railways. The 100s of billions being wasted on HS2 would be far better spent on that. Don't you agree?
  19. Do you are saying he’s made 5 billion since he took office for the second time ?? Just to clarify the facts of what you are claiming.
  20. Maybe brake pads and tyres should be taxed so that you pay more for them the more you use them (heavier vehicles consuming them quicker). A consumption tax if you will.
  21. .. which I think is an increase of about 5 billion since he took office this time around. Not bad work if you can get it. That jet is in the library after his time, I am going to get my library card and borrow it for a month.
  22. Don't forget the possibility of either old or contaminated fuel. Dump the fuel and try fresh or Aspen type fuel. Dump the fuel into a glass jar to see if any visible signs are there. Had many with the same symptoms.
  23. Now I bought a Morso stove fifteen years ago with a back boiler. It heats my whole house via rads, but not hot water. The salesman told us when we bought it that it would be slumbering much of the time. How wrong he was. Maybe if my house were better insulated he might have been right, but If it is properly cold I have it on quite high, and if it is only a little chilly I don’t light it because it would end up boiling. Not saying you are wrong, just not been my experience.
  24. Perhaps that goes back to what I was saying earlier though, they have cut car emissions (and others - heavy industries in the middle of towns for example), so that while there was always that factor of wood smoke - and brake and tyre emissions they have become a more significant portion of air pollution... though yes I believe that with heavier cars there will be increasing. On the flip side of course, with electrical car regenerative braking perhaps the brake thing is something they will let slide and it will naturally decrease as we all get electric vehicles? Still got to worry about tyres though. There is no need for a SUV in a city. I forget the number but the average footprint of a car has increased by 10% (? I think) over the years - or as my nan put it "car parking spaces are getting smaller" (no nan....) Edit: Sorry - just blanked the link you posted saying the same thing I just did
  25. Larger cars/suv’s etc already are taxed more 🤷‍♂️ HGV’s pay an astronomical amount to be on the road. If you can find an alternative to rubber tyres or a new brake pad material, let me know if you need any financial assistance to get it going, I reckon that could be a winner. 🤪 8 Cars are heavier today due to increased safety features, a consumer preference for larger vehicles like SUVs, and the addition of technology like electric powertrains. Stricter safety regulations require more materials for crumple zones and structural integrity, while more amenities and hybrid/electric components like batteries add significant weight
