  3. It's all very well bragging about the amount you earn and the crazy hours you work, but what's your point? Are you trying to identify as ordinary hard working folk? No way. The average UK earning is rather a lot less than 20k a month I think. Most people are struggling at the moment, in one way or another. Have you recently;- Noticed much biodiversity in the UK? Tried to catch a bus or a train anywhere? Tried to get a GP, Hospital or Dentist appointment? Tried to swim on a beach or in a river? Tried to find a local library? Tried to get a mortgage? Etc etc etc Nothing works properly anymore. Coming back to this country after a couple of weeks abroad brings it all into stark perspective. In a lot of ways China for instance seems like a much nicer, easier place to live at this point in time. (I'm not suggesting in any way that that's a good way to govern a country btw, to prevent any misunderstanding again.)
  4. Dr Michael Mosley Long before his time. Sad news. A nice guy, always positive and a great advocate for ideas on how to achieve and maintain good health. Michael Mosley: BBC to air special programme for late presenter WWW.BBC.CO.UK Greek police say initial test results suggest the 67-year-old died of natural causes.

  6. With a large enough cc strimmer that’s a perfectly acceptable technique, particularly if the grass is to be raked up later.
  7. Yes, I think that's good advice given what I found in the crank case.
  8. OK SJT, I finally found a way to view the diagram and very informative it is too. Good work finding it and sharing. Thanks.
  9. I'm just wondering why someone's employment status matters so much. It seems to have become this months burning question. Employee, self employed or business owner - what's the relevance? Apologies for the lack of marine life. Maybe I'm not fully a-hake yet.
  10. Thanks, Sauen. I suppose the speed of the transfer is what effectively prevents blowback i.e. proximity of inlet port to transfer port.
  11. Hello, I want dryer wood clippings for a garden path. Approx 40 metres by 1 metre. Chippings can be tipped on to private drive off School lane.
  12. The diagrams you're seeing are from reed-valve two stroke engines, this indeed prevents the fuel/air mixture from backflowing. Such engines were used in early chainsaws, but nowadays most chainsaw engines do not use such a valve. They rely on the momentum of the air/fuel mixture moving through the case and cylinder to pull air and thus fuel into the case. Indeed, some of this can be blown back if the intake duration is too much.
  13. Thanks for the reply. Sorry but I can't seem to open the file. On my laptop it says I'm trying to download an app. On my iPhone it says 'download completed' but then I can't find the file in my downloads. I've googled how to do it but again lots of instructions to follow that don't work for me. I've obviously got a bad iphone and a bad laptop!😊
  14. Recently fitted one of these chinese carbs. Before disassembling to check does anybody know if these caps are limiters? I assumed they were just like a screwdriver funnel to make tuning easier? Cheers.
  15. Ideally, there was a fad in the 90s of keeping the spools in a bucket of water. Never did it myself, just kept it in a cool damp farmhouse, probably achieved the same thing 🙂
  16. does this go for all different types of strimmer line? soak it before using or what 👍
  17. And of course, the ones that stick the line head right at the bottom of foot high grass instead of taking it down in sections from the top down
  18. https://www.rhs.org.uk/disease/bacterial-canker Surprised they still recommend wound paint? Waterlogged winter plus prunning together not a good combination, as stressed trees more vunerable.....
  19. Please leave material on slope to right of fence/retaining wall at the end of the private drive.

  22. Thy this for a diagram.
  23. I can do that with 2.4 line yes . However most of what I clattered down when working was a mixture of snot and vegetation that required a bit thicker kit than that .
