Thinking of trading in my current BMW for something I can use as a family car and for small tree work and hedging jobs. Obviously looking for double cabs- either a ranger, Hilux, X class or similar- but being double cab they have a bed length of around 1.5 metres, which is borderline being cable to have more than 2 tonne bags bagged up with leaves in it, stacked ontop of eachother. a 3.5 tonne truck is a bit excessive for me at the moment and insurance and parking is a bit of a problem! anyone else used a pick up or have any thoughts about it all? I was told by a very well known firm who do proper trees in london an the south east by the time your 30 in this game they'd put you onto the contracts management side of things ,by the time he's 40 he'd learn the trade but be knackered , how many 40/50 year old are still climbing ? Just pointless his best years are gone

A small battery one but realistically the brand is your preference (big brands anyway, not knock offs)

Stihl MSA160T is what I have, now called 161T. If it's cuts under say 4" the benefit of not having to start the saw and no need for ear defenders makes it worth the very slight extra weight of a battery. Depends if you will use it often, quite a bit more investment than the cheaper brands.

On my hakki pilke the splitter runs automatic after cut is made. The problem is the splitter just keeps running back and forth and does not stop. Can anybody tell me how to adjust this so it will stop when it returns?

I've got turnable chute on my JoBeau, can't say I have noticed that turning it causes blockage - more down to overfeeding leafy or stringy material as it's the weight of chips which push stuff through.

Always had a bad experience with teachers ,they weren't the sharpest of tools in my experience and if u didnt learn a certain way you were thick,just because they struggled to teach in a different way ... nice to see a teacher doing a thicko's job ! He must get some 💩 working on the railways and most ex criminals .. lovely

the swivel I think will cause more problems that not, anytime I used to turn the head 90 degrees it would clog up as it disrupts the flow of the chip, its ok until you get to 90 degrees. It's not like a normal chipper where the spout can turn at the point it leaves the flywheel/drum. It goes from a wide tapering chute to a narrower spout that you then will turn and create a flat wall so to speak. Gloria is perfect the way she is, just leave her be!🤔😂

Hi I'm looking for suggestions on a small chainsaw for pruning jobs. I recently repollarded a big row of limes and used a silky for the whole thing, the regrowth wasn't that big but my 201 top handle would be overkill. Handsawing the whole thing was pretty brutal after a few trees. Battery or petrol, does anyone have any recommendations? Ideally something small and light. Thanks
