  1. Past hour
  2. Local park woodland, might be hard to find a decent tree for limb walks thats away from paths and busy areas. No saws etc just climbing kit, no one had any issue with it. The park was a conservation area. Never asked permission - leave it tidy and no damage, no spikes and be aware of people nearby. A few roaming walkers didnt look up, didnt see me, and started nosing through what they thought was an abandoned bag until I shouted down ! I'd suggest taking any excess kit in a backpack and bring your rope up well out of reach, if your on your own. A friend owns a large oak so I was playing on that, and it needed deadwooding, so I dropped that for her whilst I was in there. I would not climb any trees overlooking houses or gardens without permission, sadly most of the decent oaks in my area are in residential green spaces. Or drive until you see a nice domestic garden oak. I dare say most owners might allow it if asked nicely and you can inspect/deadwood/light prune for them if they want it.
  3. Today
  4. That was quick! Ordered Sunday from Amazon Japan. Should make the long reach hedger feel about 500g- 1.1kg lighter depending what size battery I use.
  5. Rich, I imagine the DVLA pinch entitlements knowing that a lot of people won't fight back because they're backed into those sorts of corners. Rules upon rules. They want you to trip up. Scum.
  6. I get a tug over here every few years, I get the impression they’re quite impressed with it’s Dead Sea scroll vibe! I say to them that I spend half my time in the UK half in France. They tell me I have to change it, I agree, then we go our separate ways.
  7. I had planned to do the same Mick. But I got into an altercation with an African pastor in Catford one Friday afternoon. He basically drove into me and scratched my Navara and did the wing mirror. The police were called and when the plod checked my details and asked why my license was still registered to the North East when I lived in London. I was at risk of a thousand point fine. Hence the reason I applied for the photo card license.
  8. This is why I keep my paper license over here.
  9. Wow! surely that's never happened to anyone here has it?
  10. Worked for me for years.
  11. Having worked with big cats in the past, I always found it interesting, and uncovered a few scenarios when looking into the various sightings and rumors. I don't suppose you could point me in the direction of any previous discussions on here, I did look but nothing came up.
  12. I even went into the DVLA website and applied for code to see what you are entitled to drive, it is all digital now so car hire companies etc can have access to the info. The restrictions even changed on there. My letters to the ombudsman’s even documented all this as I had screen shotted all the details. As I said, like banging your head off a wall.
  13. No they won’t. See above post.
  14. That doesn’t work. I have documented it on here before. I had a paper license and C1E with no towing restrictions. I asked if I would have all the same entitlements and they replied yes. Even asked them to provide it in writing. I got the new license through a couple of days later. Sure enough they stripped my towing abilities down to C1 e with a max trailer weight of 750kg or 8.25 t MAM where as, previously it had been 12000 kg or 12t. I complained, escalated and even had a transport consultant write a letter to the ombudsman and direct to the CEO. It was like banging my head off a brick wall. In the end I dropped the issue as I was leaving the country and moving to Norway. Little did I know at the time, that the amount of unnecessary bureaucracy in Norway makes the UK look like complete ****************ing amateurs..
  15. Also the question of someone being able to pay you without having VAT number or equivalent

  17. I’m hoping someone can identify this magnolia which I bought as a bare root plant in 2006 and thought was going to be a small tree but it is now 20’ high and growing. Every magnolia it looks like seems destined to be a 60’ one… I took off the spreading branches last autumn hence the unnatural oval shape; it was reaching out wide towards my boundaries before. It flowers twice p.a. in April and summer - it’s just starting to bud up again now. It’s in the middle of my lawn 20’ /6.1 m from my house and maybe 24’ away from the opposite terraced houses. I’d like to keep it but I’m worried it may cause issues for me or my neighbours with wide spreading surface roots? I’m in Hailsham, East Sussex, on clay soil and the soakaway for my waterbutt is below it somewhere so no wonder it’s happy! Any idea how big it’s going to get?…!! And can I stop it getting any bigger by repeated pruning or should I get it taken down completely? I love it and my other trees but they are enclosing my garden and some are definitely due for more tree surgery. I have a beautiful hawthorn on the boundary by my opposite neighbour, which I favour over the magnolia but the magnolia is spreading towards it too. The hawthorn was crown reduced 2 years ago, it’s much nearer the opposite terrace, but probably 40 or 50 yrs old + so I hope no problem. Someone long ago has lopped off branches the terrace side so its growing on my side only but somehow stays upright! There’s a massive bay in my immediate neighbour’s garden on my terrace, which used to be pruned annually but her tenant is absent so it just keeps growing and is taller than my magnolia now. So that plus the magnolia will make a canopy soon if left unchecked. Any advice please?
  18. That your best effort Anus 😂😂 Somewhat silent on the ex serving officers opinion as opposed to your Guardian article I see. I’ve told you put the homophobia jibe on the list of libtard accusations if it makes you feel morally superior. Looking at some new pens, you think those are maybe a bit suspect 🤔🤔
  19. morning chaps, I've been taking a few days of. weather around 16 degrees and pleasant.
  20. You seem to be obsessed with all things anal and use the slang terminology for your obvious homophobia, is there something you aren't telling us Rambo? Those trenches can be very overcrowded, close proximity to sweaty hairy bodies - must have been utter bliss for you? (apart from the dark skinned ones obviously) What a nob.
  21. Having gone through this a couple of years ago, then without a medical its no more 7.5 tonnes or small PSV but OK for a Landrover and 3.5 ton trailer. Not driven a 7.5 tonner for maybe 30 years so no loss, did occasionally drive 17 seat minibus but the organisation that ran them has a 69 max driving age, so again no problem. A
  22. Word. Power to the people comrade. Are you off down the student Union for half price pints on Friday, revolutionary themed poetry evening tonight? See you there like a Peppermint square!
  23. Morning all Taking a trip to cosford today, so bit of a change Looks like it's gonna be nice n warm👌 Stay safe, keep drinking water, beer can wait untill 5!
  24. Lighten up Anus and I don’t mean bleach it. An interesting article 😂 Escorted there bussed out, several high ranking retired officers have expressed serious doubts about the command decisions taken on the day. As for the icon comment by another member, that leads on easily to some humour ya boring fart. Jibes about chasing old granny’s online don’t offend me so a joke about being a wrong un shouldn’t get you too excited. “ homophobia “ 😂😂😂put it on the list 👍 Try watching the video, take off your left wing blinkers and wake up. May I be as bold to suggest that an ex Met DCI might just have a bit more understanding of policing than an Arbtalk libtard.
