Guten Morgen, more hedge laying today, probably the most pleasant hedge I have encountered so far at this farm. Last year's effort was roadside with three fences within it, spent more time on the wire snips!

Morning all, Taking our eldest to Manchester airport then home for breakfast. Our other two leave later this morning, so then then it's just two old goats (me an er) left. Lovely to see them all, now roll on Monday. Spot the grumpy old man syndrome.

May the traffic be light Bob!

Morning all. The festive malaise seems to have lifted here. Slept better, woke early, just feeling better in general, nice. Helping a mate cut firewood today, he's acquired some larger diameter softwood to add to the seasoning stacks so bigger saw required. I'll expect to be taken to the cafe first if it's open. Have a good one folks.

I used to work in the IP Telecoms industry. My first job in 97 was for an ISP, one of the first business ISPβs in the UK. There was a real tech nerd vibe about the place and on the tech support website there was a full page banner saying βBefore you give us a hoot, please shut down and rebootβ it solved probably 3 out of 4 of the problems..

Had a Matador back in the day. That was a good truck! Also had a couple of Bedford MK 4X4 trucks too! Left one at a mates yard when I finished and went to GreenMech. It was still visible on Google Earth 20 years later!

I spoke to a guy with a Kraz 255 truck at a military show one time long ago, it was a feckin' enormous thing literally built to withstand just about any conditions you could throw at it, I asked him,"what about servicing and parts availability" "easy" he said, "once a year we change all the fluids,, then we drink a bottle of vodka, crawl underneath and hit everything with a big hammer,,, if nothing falls off, we're good to go for another year"

Reading your post has made me depressed.

"Pretty tight" considerable understatement. I remember when the gearbox blew on Hammersmith roundabout blocking two lanes day before a bank holiday. We had lost second gear weeks before but fatty insisted it was just a worn selector fork

30 years later, the cure is still the same. Turn off, turn on, problem gone for now.

I have a large driveway with easy access for any size vehicle. There is lots of space to dump a load of wood from tree surgeons and other businesses. Happy to pay Β£20 for a trailer load/ truck load of wood. Please text or call before arrival to ensure I am around. Thank you, looking forward to meet you!

Yes and even when they βfixβ The problem what actually happens is someone comes up with a workaround which sometimes just kicks the problem down the road, and sometimes creates a whole series of other problems. I clearly remember my reaction when I first worked in IT support that no-one tried to actually understand the cause of the bug - they just attempted to alleviate the symptom. And that was thirty years ago; I guess it is way more complex now.

That's the thing with software, it is sent out 90% correct and working, fix it later. Imagine flying on holiday and the driver says "Brand new design of plane this one, we think 90% of it should work, and kind of hoping that last 10% isn't too critical"

Our Champ had all the miulitary stuff on it . Winch , shoval a lenght of rope and two jerry cans . I loved it but we could not afford to put petrol in it every other day !

Its come to light recently that the system used before Horizon was just as bad . Capture I think it was called .
