Good Morning Even better with good news. Cheers Doug. Tinnitus - yes. Between long term exposure to machinery noise and motorbikes without ear protection. The whistle is always there. Sometimes loud, other times not. Tried different remedies. Nothing works. Do wear hearing protection now, too late but it won't get worse. Have a solid day.

Morning Pete, my tinnitus is bad when I stress, the bodies in alert mode I believe. Off out to tidy up after Floris.
-
Yea . I have it all the time . A sorta high pitched hiss but my brain tunes it out . If I stop and think about it its there . At night trying to get to sleep its most noticeable .
-
Morning all . Clear sky so chilly start . No storm here .
-
I'm in, anyone else get tinnitus? That loud it woke me up! Bill, Din, Cite.

The 3.5 tipper and grab has near to zero payload. The only (legal) task I see them performing seems to be cemetery work, placing the headstone in position. Those little tracked chippers are popular ‘tis true. I cannot fathom why in all honesty, considering their price.
-
Morning all. Well Floris didn't come to much at all for us, no call outs. Achieved a lot in the yard instead, serviced the chipper, saw tlc, kit admin, we weren't idle. One domestic windblown job came in for this morning, Oak against a house. Have a good one folks.

The proven recipe of Arb tipper and 6" road tow is difficult to argue with for general arb work. Good coin can be made with a 20 year old transit and venerable TW150 However, how others roll is often of interest and a talking point. I started with a Kangoo and 3m caged trailer with a wee chipper and rapidly proving Dempsey right when I outgrew it. One tool that gets the French aroused is the 3.5t tipper fitted with a grab. They sell them here for €25k ! Wee chippers have a very strong following. In fact two of my 3 subby climbers run medium vans, caged tippers and wee chippers. Both use their vans for private use, not earning enough to justify a separate family vehicle. I doubt Mrs Accountant will go there but a 7.5t hook loader with an 8" tracked chipper would work well for me. Attached image lifted from a discussion on a French arb group.

Again I something similar, I use a quad bike and a flail mower, the advantage being the quad bike has other uses about the place, trailer towing, dragging etc.

Next day was red hot too. Went to see the eucalyptus collection at Marks Hall. Limped round like I'd had my coccyx removed. Fond memories.

Yeah man stoke is no problem thanks for that greatly appreciated ill give them a bell

Lutons. One of my first end-client jobs years ago. No recollection how I got it. Dense as darkness thirty-five foot tall conifer. Couldn't get a farmer to leave a trailer so hired a Luton and stacked the whole thing in the back. FULL. To the roof. Horrendously hot day. Spent half of it putting my head under the outside tap. Anyway. Got it done and got it home. It unloaded surprisingly easily and was smoke in the next ten minutes. Blew the van out and had it back at the hire place for 19:00. £350 from the client. £120 for the van. £30 fuel etc. £200 for me. I'd arrived.
-
That needs to travel in a luton van and come down on the tail lift. If you're not doing tree work with a luton then who the fyuck are you!

Not a clue. I suffer from a severe financial limp. I do tree work for the babes.

The gl&d wee chipper is expensive for the build quality but performance wise she puts a smile on my face every time I take her out. Just cant beat gravity and a feed roller!
-
That is some strong guff. Are they really that good?

Try again. Mick's been climbing for over 60 years. Did 20 years as a groundy before that. I live with a 6 year old who'd mop the floor with you as far as humility is concerned... Around £3,500 for the basic 4 that most people seem to care about. Mike's idea is a solid one. You get a feel for a few companies, they get to guage your worth. I wouldn't ever volunteer a day for free mind. If you're willing to do that you're setting a terrible precedent.
-
We'd be reasonably secure either way. What sort of income would you expect I'd be earning? This is all good input, I appreciate it.

There's cake business and cake business btw. Does she advertise on the local facebook groups or have a contract with Heathrow? One of you is probably going to need a real job. Unless you're otherwise secure for shelter and nutrition. A lot of arb is unreliable and a lot of arbs are self employed and at the mercy of it. There is employment of course. Couldn't tell you a lot about that though. I'm fairly unemployable.

Monkey Puzzle takedowns are like War stories, never a good 1! Evil trees!

you joeboo owners are used to such poor performance I'm not surprised, when you run a high performance unit like the CS100 the tiniest change seems huge, like a race horse or formula 1 car!
