    Chickens?

Having persuaded the other half that we have probably got space in the garden to keep some chickens - anyone got any suggestions on things to do (or not)? I have in mind buying a coop, but then staking out an outdoor run area it to go in - we have got panelled fencing on all sides of the garden so I’m hoping I could use the existing fence for two sides, then get away with doing post and chicken wire fencing on the other two sides. My family had bantams as a kid but that’s a long time ago, so any hints and advice would be very welcome!
  2. Cutting some nice beech yesterday and today. Site was rather inclined with no vehicle access. Slabs and trunks slipping around [emoji51] Cutting went fine until... But the quality of the planks, gentle spalting and fantastic grain. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  3. I have a 435ii that was failing to start. I replaced the ignition module and now it starts fine. However it now appears not to come off fast idle. The usual blipping the throttle after start doesn't reduce the idle speed and the chain runs quite fast when I take the brake off. As the saw warms up the idle speed drops so the chain just creeps forward, but doesn't stop. I think it is a fast idle issue as the T screw is as far clockwise as it will go and adjusting the L screw doesn't make much difference. I can't see the ignition module having any impact on idle speed? Any ideas would be appreciated.
  4. Finally got round to putting together some video footage of recent projects. Hopefully you'll enjoy and feedback is always welcome. Link below for the video. [emoji116][emoji108][emoji106]
  5. Hi Does anyone use microbull at treecare or forestry jobs? If so how it have been working. How much maintance needed and have you find something what is just design wrong. Allso intrested about used ones if anyone knows where to find those
  6. Thinking of getting one but most jobs are hilly or with bad access so use of Ramps is a must. I have a stump grinder with electric drive and it can go up steep stuff and drive into the pickup. How good is the drive on a M500? Would it drive up into the back of the pickup? (folding ramps)
  7. Has anyone used these yet? One would assume them to be good as they’re built for purpose [emoji848]. ADVANCE ProCOM ear defenders set - Smart, efficient, comfortable communication WWW.STIHL.CO.UK

  9. Who is the main supplier for helmet custom stickers. Thanks in advance
  10. Based in Yorkshire. Most importantly, forestry experience, chainsaw tickets and first aid required. FMOC tickets an advantage but not essential. Training on machines may be given to the right person. Wage negotiable (depending on what you’re worth). Message me on first instance
  11. Just bought a 13hp rock machinery stump grinder and I was wondering if I should change the teeth setup. What are your thoughts?
  12. Been offered this Mill. Obviously missing the frame though. He’s looking for offers. Anyone any idea what a fair offer would be and if the frame is available?
  13. Hi, looking for recommendations for a carver for a client based in Nottingham. We’re taking down a cedar tree in their back garden and they have suggested the possibility of having the standing stem left and carved. Any suggestions of contacts appreciated. Thank you
  14. Anyone got info on where to buy ex-fleet vans from? Is it worth it or are they likely to be f’ed? Background is that I’m going back into work car scheme (hopefully, if car ever gets delivered!) in a few months but am loathe to let my accrued 9 years NCB lapse. (I know, I could alternate it with another policy but I did that years ago and ended up cocking up!) So I’m wondering about buying a van for shifting stuff in / being spare vehicle / fetching firewood etc. Doesn’t need to be glam - but ideally Transit Connect or VW T4 size. This would then get insured and let me keep up the NCB.
  15. Anyone know the spec of the pump on a botex trailer?
  16. Ideally 13” diameter and up
  17. Just wondering whether this applies to existing petrol and diesel vehicles or just new ones? The article isn’t too clear over whether it’s new rules for all or just new rules for new cars. If it’s a massive hike for all, what’s to stop you cashing in your remaining duty and renewing a month before to at least get 11 months at the present rip off rate? New car tax rules penalise every petrol or diesel car driver APPLE.NEWS Vehicle Excise Duty rates rise from April 11
  18. Morning all, was just wondering if anyone could give an opinion on/has experience with oil and steel tracked mewps? Only recently heard of them and doesnt seem to be much about them anywhere. We are looking into getting a tracked machine and was wondering what these were like ? Thanks in advance
  19. Hi Has anyone any information about difference between chippers with own engine versus hydraulic powered from other machine? Just thinkin is 18hp own engine small chipper better option than some kind of attached chipper to small loader with 23hp. Technically 23hp is more but I don't know how much of that is transferred to the chipper via hydraulics

  21. Looking to hire a self fed tracked chipper for a couple weeks in North England. Anyone one with anything ?
  22. Just saw this video - never seen this happen in real life but I assume it’s a tree with a big crown that has collected water and the trunk has rotted from the inside?
