They don't give near enough lift mate. Think the biggest one is only 5 inch of lift.

Aye I've spoke to him a few times on Whatsapp or Messenger. Might buy it after Christmas tbf as it's all I really do is jack trees over. How much lift does that Chris Forestry one do?

Insurance... I don't have any but I only really fell in big forests etc for one big contractor so I'd guess we are covered from them.... Maybe I'll push the boat out and buy one of those jacks in a few months.

You've deep pockets. Haha. I just use a 20T off of eBay and does fine but how much heavier is this 30T? Would be good to have knowing you'll put just about anything over. Sometimes have to use 2 20 Tons to get some of our trees over.

Aye spot on cheers again mate. I had a wee look when I made this post and I was curious as to why there is no baffle but hey ho. Now the spark arrestor or however you call it, I've always removed them on my saws. 62/72/85 but never really understood what it does for the saw... If anyone can explain

To be fair I've two brashing saws, an old 261 and a 562. And two felling saws 572 and 585 and will keep the 85 forever as I love it.

Well the little socket cap melted on my exhaust and I kept using it and it's kind of sucked itself in but anyways... got a new one on warranty but kept the old one. Thinking of modding the exhaust if I could get some info on how to do it myself. Also what exactly can you expect from a modded exhaust? Apart from a more deafening note

That looks spot on that. Me and my friend were on about how it'd be good to go out on and do low impact stuff and that seems like just the job. How much is that machine? Had a quick look online and says around 40K new but not sure if that's right with how prices fluctuate nowadays -
How small were they? 😂 Also another thing is comfort. I'm 6'6/7 on a good day so a wee van just kills me on long drives as I barely fit in it. Guessing the d max is fairly comfy/roomy. Won't be bought to tow, although wouldn't mind doing so if the chance ever came about but aye. Never have to in my job.

Well in April probably going to be upgrading my van and would like something to go well with my huge selection of checkered shirts and my new Engelbert Strauss chainsaw jeans. My Renault Kangoo just doesn't fit the vibe anymore Been looking at the d maxes and tbh I'm already dead set on one just not sure whether to get a 2.5 or a 1.9. Mpg seems pretty decent 35-38 on the 1.9s but not sure how much of that is true? Be probably spending 15000. 5K down and ticky the rest. I do 25K miles a year thats why I'm wondering what these are really like for mpg. Work in the forest as a cutter and sick of ruining my Kangoo van.

Are you steering towards arb/climbing or forestry cutting/saw work and tree felling? The way I see it is if you don't try it you'll never know but you'll always wonder... You can just go balls in and try it at the lowest level in arb/forestry and realize it's shite and you prefer to be in a warm work shop than standing out in the pissing rain and wind. Or you might like it Not like you lose all your past welding knowledge the minute you finish either so you can fall back on it

Might be a bit different where you live. I was quite shite but could fabricate, manual turn and mill etc. Here's one of the staircases I've made. Only did one spiral, with a little help with measurements etc off my old boss who was paralysed so I did all the manual work. He's a smart fella Was on 10.50 an hour back in 2019 or so when I did that.

Welder/fabricator/engineer whatever you want to call it. 13 quid an hour when I quit 2 years ago and went into hand cutting in forestry. If you are going into the woods give me a PM on here and I'll let you know how I've got on in the past year of doing this.

I've been messaging you on Insta anyways. 😂😂😂 I'll be buying Crocky's ported 372 for my next felling saw, I just don't see the point in having more than 3 saws. Got 562, 72 and 85. 372 seems to be renowned for being a hardy work horse and my 572 has already detonated once and probably will again. I'll put the first blow up down to me being new to the game though... ideally like to have a 72 ported and modded up and a stock 395 from Crocky within the next year for sure. Bit too close to Christmas for chucking money about that's all 😂

Husky is 2 years domestic but really who's to know what you use it for and if you're friendly with the dealer then does it really matter? I like the 3 Series as I'm not keen on the autotune on the 5s, neither are the boys I work with as they're having a lot of bother.
