  1. If anyone here has a lot of forestry knowledge on spraying, please message me I’d like to ask a few questions. Woodcutter in forestry but always willing to look down other paths to progress into something.
  2. Sold for 1800. What a van she has been.
  3. I have it up for 2200 on Facebook market place. Forgot to add the price on here as I just ripped the info off the advert on there.
  4. Scottish Borders, Galashiels.
  5. Not really an ‘arb truck’ but has served me well in forestry for two years and I’ve bought a D Max so thought I’d chuck it on here if anyone needs a cheap runabout van. Don’t get too jealous. Renault Kangoo 2014/64 plate for sale. 121500 miles on the clock. 1.5 dci. One years MOT. Towbar fitted. Had 1400 spent on last MOT. Owned this van for two years and have driven over 40,000 miles in it. Most if not all the running gear has been replaced within the past two years having over 4,000 spent on it. Serviced by a professional mechanic every 10,000 miles. Currently on Michellin Agilis Cross Climate tires with plenty tread left on them. (Tires are over 120 per corner). DPF has been removed and mapped out. Very good on diesel. Averaging 50 miles per gallon. Age related marks, a few minor dents and scratches in the bodywork. Cheap reliable work horse for someone. Work carried out within the past year: New front bottom arms. Track rod ends. Front brake pads. Front brake discs. Rear brake pads. Rear brake callipers. Rear brake discs and flexi hoses. New thermostat. Oil pressure switch. DPF removed and mapped out.
  6. Sounds pretty decent though. What is it that they are usually killing off? Regen trees or weeds around small/new plantations?
  7. Must have plenty boys. What exactly are they spraying for?
  8. Single handedly and spraying with a knapsack or were you making money off of running your own squad?
  9. 850 quid? Jesus. Is there good money in spraying? That seems like a rip off if not, my small trees was a weeks course at like 950 2 years ago. Even that was steep for what it was.
  10. Is he an arsehole like the 99 percent of machine operators? 🤔
  11. Shame it’s 200 miles away I’d of came and shown you a thing or two @spuddog0507
  12. My van is sick and it’s already stung me 1400 this month and will sting me another grand or so in the near future so before I say fk it and sign on the jam roll… I’ve been toying with the idea of a brand new pick up, under warranty etc and have been told about this farmers association, not sure if NFU is the same thing or not. Basically been hearing of fellas saving 20 percent on pick ups… I’m a woodcutter, but I’ll happily be a farmer for a day or two to save myself a couple pennies.
  13. First job under my own name today, cutting windblow off a forest road/fairly busy foot path in a nearby forest.
  14. New guy got a tree hung up so had to bomb it. Another few photos today of some bigger stuff, bit of fir and spruce. 72766dc9-6117-4bb3-880b-1e982393c5c0.mov
  15. Low rakers and one handing a saw into the toe of a tree… yep…
  16. Aye. Find a bigger angle on the gob makes it jump a fair bit off and less of a hinge. Still a bit wary at times when leaving less of a hinge as half the time it’s windy, or windy enough.
  17. Mainetti’s for the coat hangers. I used to service there machines when I was on the spanners etc. My first job fabricating was a 2 story staircase for the bit in Jed. @Dr.Green seen your ads on FB. I am no tree surgeon or groundsman but I do work with climbers. They’re 200-250 per day though for climbing I know that for a fact.

  19. It certainly is. Only pissed down for 4 hours at work today
  20. Some more from today. Big stuff on a hillside can’t beat it.
  21. IMG_4786.mov
  22. Few photos from past wee while. Few videos to follow.
  23. Old gear oil is the best. I really love the smell it leaves in my van, garage, clothes, washing machine.
  24. Husqvarna 372xp Chainsaw with 20” bar and chain - Logs and Saws LOGSANDSAWS.CO.UK the husqvarna 372xp is a great professional saw for all Round use, from the forest to land owners. Comes with a 20”bar and chain as... What Stubby said or the link above. Suprisingly light for a 70cc, old school imported. Had countless gallons through mine in 4-5 foot Sitka and doesn’t miss a beat. Probably wouldn’t cut as fast as a fresh 562 as there’s probably 20 odd years between the two. 562 is a great saw to use probably the best I’ve had so far but they are defos not the strongest unfortunately. 372 20 inch light bar and it will be perfect. 353 on there is a really nice saw, I hammer mine in brashing big pappy Spruce with a 15 inch bar on and it is torquey. Like a feather too.
  25. I’ve bought a 353, 372 and a 395 off of them since I posted this. All arrived quickly as he had them in stock, it will be on it’s way as he only keeps 3-5 in stock every couple of months and re orders when they sell out I think. Or that’s the way I see it. Had him send up a new clutch for the 353 as the chain kept creeping after a few combi cans through it. Free of charge under warranty. Couldn’t ask for much more, prices are spot on as well compared to 5 series.
