  1. Genuine question, are tree surgeons likely to sell playground bark ? Why dont u butt out ? If I had reply then I could have said try this person . That's all
  2. Google not thrown anything up ?
  3. Absolutely jealous of you having a permanent rink ,just saying to my other half about going to a proper ice rink and how it seems to be a thing of the 80s and early 90s. If not I will have to go to Denmark as they have a decent rink in the square every Xmas
  4. Can't beat a bit of skating if you can find a rink,if not you'll have to use roller blades !
  5. Might be, I wasn't well when I was up there
  6. He's ex military, i thought he was maybe I'm wrong . Doesn't he have the flag hanging up?
  7. I do ,if it was a good idea it wouldn't have been broken or placed in a position where it could of been damaged, But that change of A bar was a major thing , where the hse said u have to have the infeed chute further down and further away from the rollers makes it a pain , Should of kept the a bar as I cant see how long the wiring would last in some of these coastal locations . U cant mitigate idiots and badly maintained machinery.
  8. Was a qualified member of staff, I know the company but will not say it on here. But the is only so much u can do then the is just stupidity and bang more legeslation and hse, we never take into account home owners, builders, farmers that have accidents, it all gets lumped together..
  9. I was saying it was when machines went from having the standard A bar over the infeed chute , to then having chutes a certain distance /height away from rollers , then the bottom stop bar that was over sensitive ..then the paddle switches and emergency stop buttons . I mean how many safety devices does one need for one fecking machine. You can never risk asses idiots
  10. It was a stupid contractor (a bloke with long hair not scraped up) that caused the first change .I'm not complacent with chippers or chainsaws but I respect them and take precautions.the company that had the accident were known to cut corners ..enough said
  11. Yes i do , its obvious its going to break off, chippers were perfectly safe before having stupid switches on them, when you had the a bar on the chipper that did stop, forward and reverse ... the stupid story was a bloke had long hair and got scalped by the chipper. Chippers aren't dangerous the same way chainsaws aren't, its the people who use them
  12. Welcome to hire companies, its not the case of you've been done over ,its business, you broke it you pay for it...its probably that genuine parts have to be fitted in accordance with the hse policy and insurance. Have to take care of someone else's machine next time .shit happens
  13. I guess u mean that stupid plastic stop switch
  14. No i didnt notice that , but Hazel is one of the most easiest things to proper gate ,try not to mow around it then! What about a cutting ?
  15. Why dont you layer the original cobnut ,then when its rooted take it off that? You should have more chance and the parent plant aswell rather than a sucker that might not produce ?
  16. No problem, he had alot of ex forces people on the course last time ,some went into estate works etc But he's worth the call
  17. Talk to lee at lbs training Wellington, he will give you an un biased answer as to if your past it , he is also ex sas too -you might consider forestry instead . Depends how much your body's fked Some people change career at 40 and dunno if that's not ideal.
  18. See how loose it is and then attempt to stake after straightening it up ,if it won't lift up again then support it with the lean with a natural crutch
  19. Let me know if u get stuck,
  20. What about bryco in Northants and see if they vould cross match parts or rebuild the engine ?they do most of the brands
  21. The stihl Ms 201t was like that I once owned even though I ran it on aspen, found out it left the factory without a gasket in the carb. If it gives you no warning and cuts out either on idle or when your moving around the tree or randomly after a cut . I'd rule out everything else first but that was it . Tried gaskets and carb rebuild through a dealer no good , tried a new carb through a dealer that was roughly 250/300 from memory .... still didnt run well.
  22. Might be worth asking the old girls of plant on FB for parts and other stuff like that
  23. Sorry, mark wasn't referring to yourself but I remember an puppet of a house holder somewhere up country who use a ground saw at neck hight and guess what happend . Then the rest of us have more qualifications and legislation to follow
  24. Most structural engineers don't know much why it comes to trees , I once argued with building control about a tree 50ft away from footings being pulled in greensand, he was trying to suggest footings a 16ft Leyland would cause issues , when challenged about it they use a guide from nhbc that's not based on tree species or types of soil/rock below ground level , So really a load of bollocks . Ive also heard of this crap take a 1/3rd off it per year before the trees gone. I'd suggest talk to your house insurance, ultimately if it goes wrong they will foot the bill, also they might suggest they aren't that bothered about tree removal because they deem it far enough away from the house or might stipulate otherwise . Ive had the miss pleasure of dealing with structural engineers in other disciplines they aren't that bright. Ever thought about a professional tree surveyors report ? Might be a bit more in depth than a structural engineer and more relevant.
  25. Just putting feelers out ,ive the following saws from new and are un used ,they've been run up on aspen and bar that just sat on a shelve not being used. Photos and prices to follow Echo cs370 es x1 as new Echo 362 top handle x1 new Efco mt3700 ground saw x1 As I say only putting feelers out , echos brought when fgm became the importers , fgm shifted stuff on .
