  1. That's fair point , its not allowed on building sites
  2. We did at nptc Kenilworth, Stoneleigh and we're told he didnt do assements for nptc .we had feedback from other people that he wasn't a great assessor for other reasons
  3. I did everything by the book. Literally
  4. I know Crystal clear what happend and how it happend . I doubt you know the capabilities of a forwarder, I dont either ...as you will only know if you refer to the operators manual same as tracked carriers.. every machine is different . The forwarder was on full outreach ,working from a ride ,the tree was still semi attached by hinge. The assessor should of dealt with it not the candidate , and no feedback . Wether you like someone as a candidate or not your there to asses them nothing else . In the end the assessor just took chunks of the tree until it fell to the ground ... not good practice .
  5. Wasn't around in 2002, ive just got eye slip saying pass fail, Ive also got the a3 book that's still saying pass fail in a unit module.
  6. A forwarder is designed to lift ,not pull. If u want to untangle tree u use a tractor winch , the tree species was beech /hornbeam. And what should of happend is the assessor should have taken over. I got the tree hung up and couldn't get it unstuck
  7. It was me it happend to , and the forwarder was a valtra valmet derived machine .. blame the twat on the forwarder then.. Don't blame someone that is competent, can even tell you which assessor it was . I wasn't driving the forwarder, nor was I the assessor..so blame those to useless hunts. At the end of the day it was a question I answered honestly , and itbwas in the days before candidate feedback
  8. I was failed at a college , Loads of experiance passed all the tree felling assessments bar a hung up tree...got the tree hung up, couldn't get it down using approved techniques ,instead of the assessor taking over the situation ,I was told to get a forwarder -forwarder couldn't get the tree down .. so i failed on that element. Shouldn't of been a failure but the assessor was known to be a knob. What should of happend was the assessor should have taken over the situation and got the tree down. The were alot of assesors back then that didnt like a confident experienced 18 Yr old back then
  9. I know nothing about the dolmar or anything pre 90s ,bar ive heard old school people talk about dolmar, danarm and solo. Stihl Ms 241 cm was a dog -for a pro saw i can give up the weight but a slow cutter no thanks . I dont like the electronic autotune shite , laptop for faults nearest dealer for plug in -that's if they've got the tech . I found some of the saws hesitated or needed time to think .. . Just get what they are trying to do , but not the same . And yes some faults you coild get around in the field but not the modenern stuff
  10. Early 2000s , I had the pleasure of using the 2 series chainsaws , 242,257,254, 272,281 254 was the go to saw for pretty much everything...some of my ex bosses still had the above units , good saws then I had alot of the 3 series saws ..certain units did almost cross over . Did have a 254 till the fecking thing caught fire when I was doing a freebe.
  11. I never got intimate with the 351 or 353g Think the 3 series only just came out when I was 14 ish and have seen loads of 346xp/xpg but only ever one 351g and one 353 but the 353 was a bit improved over the 351 . When I was that age I didnt follow the science just what was in the brochure !
  12. Feck I remember what happed to the 350 , it went into a garden repair hire place and guess what the thing came out sized. Should of wrapped it round the hunts head who tried to fix it .
  13. I'm just on about factory standard , I thought the 346 screamed its knackers off but was gutless in proper wood , 351 /353 was had more grunt or torque, And the 350 was a cross between the both i found it could carry upto a 20" bar and still work effectively ..... gawd I miss that saw
  14. Maybe , the 357xp was tuned up wrong or on the wrong size sprocket, bar, chain configuration.. was the bosses saw, bulky and slow I thought. Just maybe I was lucky with my 350 and some of them are like brummie cars above .
  15. Its just that mhale pot and piston, I cant tell if it is or isn't but they are sold on Ebay, if i could get a new genuine one ...id buy one ..just a bloody all-rounder. Never liked the 346.
  16. Never had one in that many parts , mainly because it lasted really well and was still going strong when it was sold i resent selling it as it was my first chainsaw that got me through forestry college and in industry afterwards . The ones I had a dull view of was the 340 and 345. Is that the genuine pot or aftermarket one? Did like the 351g..
  17. Not home owner, land owner estate management saw , still a good saw , 346xp or xpg screamed but had no guts to it
  18. Couldn't beat the husqvarna 350,353,346 models , sure you've not got one of the Chinese copies of the above ? 357 xp was dire ,not sure what it was trying to be or do !
  19. Is it even the right throatplate they've sent out ? We've had that before with a different manufacturer . Or they could of got the stove that hot its been warped so the plate doesn't fit or won't fit .
  20. But we dont live in a 3rd world , and really u have no right to life , Have I rattled some amnesty international person?
  21. We need to be out of that human rights rubbish
  22. Give it a try ,most things take from woody cuttings we've a few things on the go at the moment as we want a native hedge and dont want to pay for whips
  23. If i was going to be money or be horrid , dont u think id have commented on your post about Chinese skidsteers ?
  24. Its how I phrase things that's it, so rather than jumping in and trying to be the main man ..why dont you stop , think about what you want to say before u write it . First place id turn to is Google, but bearing in mind Hunstanton is in the arse end of no where everyone will have to import it there. And if quantities were put up it might be cheaper to go further away
  25. Genuine question, are tree surgeons likely to sell playground bark ? Why dont u butt out ? If I had reply then I could have said try this person . That's all
