  1. Agree with the point Anno made about evidence. Can you provide the authorities with anything that supports your belief that the single tree in question is causing your sons health problems? Otherwise, I can't imagine the council being swayed in their decision based solely on your 'belief' the tree is the problem. Hope you find a solution.
  2. Hi, I have someone doing clothing repairs for me and they'd like to find an old pair of chainsaw trousers to salvage some protective material from. Size, brand, type is unimportant. Just wondered if anyone has an old pair that they intend throwing away? Happy to pay something for them Thanks
  3. The menu button top right corner opens the options for today's posts, account etc. I don't have a computer either but the mobile version is good
  4. Snooze247, I have had same problem occasionally that you show in the video, with a 560 with both husky or oregon bars. It won't adjust up enough to tighten the chain. I wouldn't use the saw when it's like that though. I just take the chain/bar/cover off and fit it all again carefully, also moving the chain a bit by hand as you adjust seems to help.
  5. Was a young buzzard that turned Santi against birds, he chases them all now. It took to practicing it's hunting on me and him by swooping from behind when we were working in a particular place. I had it touch top of my helmet once, it touched on his back twice! Second time he yelped and the parent buzzard had a real go at the youngster, it never bothered us again
  6. Have worn husqvarna which I didn't rate much. Stihl which were good, warm in winter and kept thorns out well but the seams and pockets needed repair often. Arbortec at moment, next will probably be pfanner on advice of folk I've worked with. I've never tried wearing the women's version though!
  7. I have breatheflex, comfy and light compared to others I've worn. They're starting to tear at the crotch seam with doing the splits but my other chainsaw trousers do the same. Dislike the hooks that go over your laces, pointless and catch on everything
  8. Not bothered at all Gary, he loves them. Sheep, cattle, pigs, horses, just enjoys their company. He doesn't like birds though
  9. Your answer I think is in the first paragraph of the initial post.
  10. Santi thinks he should've been a proper working dog, don't think he can decide which area to specialise in
  11. Great photo, she looks very happy to be back at work
  12. Best keep the saw away from important little places until it's running smoothly! I'm sure you'll get some help soon, lots of knowledgeable people around here. Will look at your site, thanks
  13. You're right there, for anyone that could be helped to change every effort should be made
  14. Sorry I can't help with the juddering saw but the sculpture looks fantastic, impressive work.
  15. Eggsarascal, been thinking about this and I'm interested to hear your opinion on implementing the rehabilitation of offenders? Personally, I have not served a sentence (was lucky not to as a youngster) but I had many friends who were in and out, and did my fair share of picking up the pieces from their decisions. I don't think any of them were interested in rehabilitation, they were all pretty sure about their chosen path and apparently quite proud of themselves. Granted a longer term sentence would take the spring out of their step but not for long. Mostly they were educated, had proved they could hold long term employment etc but they chose the other path. Is it possible to rehabilitate someone against their will, and how?
  16. Agree with the sentiment but it should only apply to a certain level of offence. I heard somewhere recently that 1/3 of women in prison are there due to non payment of TV Licence which seems crazy.
  17. Very interesting post, and a fantastic looking table, thanks. A friend of mine learned from Tim Stead after leaving college, he was such a skilled and knowledgeable man. I often pass his memorial in the community woodland he established near his home
  18. You do seem to have a lot of threads derailed, but you take it in good spirit so credit to you
  19. Was just wondering earlier how she was, hope she's improved some by the morning. Fingers crossed here too.
  20. Have had the husky helmet a while (with the gold coloured visor) and I like it a lot. I always use the strap though, never considered removing it. Do you have problems with it moving about all the time when only the muffs securing it?
  21. Sorry to hear about little Betty, it's difficult when they're poorly, fingers crossed she's better soon. The Vets bill is always eye-watering, in or out of hours
  22. Happy Christmas little Betty (hope you got the boiler sorted!)
  23. I like seeing your work gobbypunk, some lovely work that you do. For the roof have you ever tried torch on felt?
  24. There are reasons for leaving stumps high, if digging out for example. Without good reason it's better to cut low I believe. A while back I was swearing at the felling course that had been held in the wood where I was working, tore a hydraulic hose out of the tractor on a needlessly high stump... (for long standing members here, I'm not the reincarnation of TCD but agree with his opinion on high stumps!)
