  1. It's the leaving stuff on site after we've left that annoys me most, and when it's discovered a saw is missing they're all "home with the kids now" so I usually get the pleasure of hunt the saw with a headtorch. Notably, they never forget about taking all their own climbing gear with them.
  2. One of our lads, "wreck it Ralph", has definitely been on your seminar. Going by his hit rate you're extremely successful. Don't suppose you include a module on leaving a 500i, erm, huh, mmmm, somewhere....
  3. Guessing Mr Giffin wasn't in government.
  4. Or even for cods hake.
  5. Might be someone able to help listed here. Sawmill Directory | Find A Sawmill Near You | Sawmill Directory SAWMILLERS.CO.UK Sawmill finder for the UK market. Find a company in your area. A directory of static and mobile sawmill businesses offering...
  6. You don't follow English football too closely I take it!
  7. But he does front a primetime BBC show, along with Karen Brady who sits in the HoL (can she be considered impartial?).
  8. That's my take too. If his Twitter opinion was in support of what the government said he'd be presenting as normal tonight, it's not about voicing an opinion but voicing the wrong one.
  9. Portwest apo1 gloves have been decent. They get wet eventually but they're pretty good and better than anything else when it was -10. Best with larger size than needed so the insulated liner isn't too tight. Have had them 3 months but they're kept away from ropes.
  10. Dry socks and no birds makes for a small victory
  11. Enjoyed that. Wish I could put in wedges that quickly, you sound like a woodpecker!
  12. Friday past, partial dismantle of a decent sized Ash with Dieback. It wasn't too badly affected but the customer was being proactive (that's unusual). They wanted to retain some of it if possible so we took it down to a point it'll fell when the time comes without reaching any targets. Tom climbing, me rigging and foreman Al cutting/chipping, all arisings left on site. Lovely job. MOV_0173.mp4 MOV_0174.mp4
  13. I've found a quick flick of the visor open/closed knocks the water off ok
  14. Fingers crossed then!
  15. Had a hedge reduction on Tuesday, pigeon sitting on eggs.
  16. Saw an interesting interaction between an Ash and a Holly today. Whatever they are up to, the neighbour 30m away seemed to be quite impressed.
  17. Met a proper gold digger where we were working today. Belongs to a groundwork guy who bought it new, this colour from the factory as a special request to 'pimp his ride!'
  18. I wondered today where all the staff on strike actually were. Passed a couple of closed schools today with only 2 or 3 people outside with placards. Isn't the point they all protest otherwise it's just a day off. We've 2 guys can't come to work because of the strike.
  19. New arrival in the truck today. A few test cuts on small stuff but not had chance to try it in anger yet, be interesting to see how it does.
  20. I remember one that didn't hold the road very well. It was definitely a tipper, but only once.
  21. Thought you'd have your hands full with your own new member. Been awake for 3 days straight now with nappies in one hand and a bottle in the other. And that favourite dummy you've been searching for is under the sofa...
  22. Next week - drunk octopus wants another fight!
  23. It's hired, an older Genie something (model 65 possibly), 21m height.
