  1. Does the compression feel a lot less when youre trying to start it when warm?
  2. Left my car parked in my paddock last night and this morning wouldnt start it, looks like something has chewed through the petrol piipe.
  3. More than likely a scored piston and cylinder, these are old machines, very heavy and numb. IMO its not worth fixing if it needs new carb, coil and pipes.
  4. Sounds like hydro lock with an excess of oil in the cylinder and i seem to recall this has been a question on here previously with the exact same symptoms and @spudulike diagnosed it correctly. The solution to spray a good amount of WD40 or Carb cleaner down the plug hole and leave it for 10 mins and then pull it over with the exhaust off and plug out whilst holding the saw upside down so whatever you sprayed in comes out of the plug hole and exhaust port then refit exhaust and plug and try and start it. The no gasket is how they are and the metal plate is a heat shield.
  5. its all to do with too much fuel in the cylinder creating greater compression from missing the pop when when first starting if i recall correctly from a post a few years ago. The solution was to get the standard rope rotor about the price of the ergo spring and fit that.
  6. Chain Saw Collectors Corner - Gasoline Chain Saws by Manufacturer WWW.ACRESINTERNET.COM
  7. i'll tag him for you so he gets notification @Gajendra
  8. Beat me to it. Had this happen myself and measured the hole in the roll pin
  9. Ive had some ones dog shitting on my front lawn for months, ive a good idea of who the dog walker is but never caught them and always report it to council via the app who come out, clear it up and hang about for an hour or so to try and catch them. Other day i got pissing wet through and popped home to get changed, was looking out of bedroom window and saw said dog walker and the dog was taking a shit on my lawn, she looked around to see if anyone was watching and started to walk off, as she turned she noticed me watching and then started to mess around in her pocket looking for a bag which she didnt have, She then picked the shit up in her bare hand and walk off up the road carrying the steaming turd..
  10. it attaches to a connector that is moulded into the orange handle behind the inlet hole which is now ringed red in the above pic
  11. youre second picture, the small hole in the bottom right of the handle housing is the impulse. the hose fits on a moulded connector in the handle. its at the other side of this hole. Bugger to get the pipe on without removing the black handle using long nosed pliers.
  12. more than likely a 309. im pretty sure there should be a fibre washer under it when screwed into the tank.
  13. Dont know if it helps but this is the coil / flywheel set up on a knackered 261 i have, same part number as the flywheel you have.
  14. Ive been asked to look at a Husky hover mower fitted with a honda gx engine. The guy says that the control handle doesnt change the revs but if you move the govenor with your hand it does so he thinks something has come adrift. Im pretty sure that the control handle which is called the choke control on the parts list only operates the choke and doesnt raise or lower the revs of this machine as they are set and cant be altered, am i correct?. Nothing looks to be missing.
  15. Saw will be fine. Stuff the welding gloves, use the £130 to buy everyone carrying branches a pair of Ripeur 2 gloves
  16. That Gunk degreaser is now rubbish, im sure theyve changed the recipe as well as putting the price up 35%. I used to tip 5 litres in a bucket and be able to use it for over a month to clean parts but now it only has degreasing properties for a couple of days and then reverts to a bucked of coloured water.
  17. If youre getting a new carb boot as youve in your picture also get a new ring that secures it, ive found that using the old one doesnt get a good seal.
  18. no need to remove the bar studs they dont hold the cases together, there are 5 screws that do this, 3 in the clutch area and two just behind the dawg spikes.
  19. Have you got a compression gauge with a schrader valve fitted or a standard one for 4 strokes without a schrader valve?
  20. If you look at the pic of the flywheel you can see red on the boss which has come off the crankseal, the flywheel shouldnt be touching this seal. Either the seal hasnt been tapped in far enough or the flywheel is oversize. It shouldnt take much to get it going, as you say it flooded. It needs a good pull over upside down with the plug out.
  21. Just looking at the OP's photo of the flywheel gives it away, no markings on the underside and the key is seperate. Of course this doesnt help him get it started but hopefully he wont be wasting money on OEM parts if needed.
  22. yeah looks like the full saw is a chinese copy im afraid. The flywheel is definately a copy. The flywheel rubbing on the crankseal will not help its running.
  23. The gasket doesnt look OEM to me for a saw that clean id expect to see a green line of gasket down the middle of the cases. If the gasket isnt OEM i would want to know why the cases have been split on such a clean saw. Id be splitting the case myself and starting from the bottom up. A 361 is worth it. Can also see from the pics that there looks to be an AV mount missing from the handle to the square hole on the crankcase. Is the whole saw a 361 chinese copy? Too many things on the pictures dont look right to me
  24. is the top end genuine? My first thought when i saw the first picture was that piston looks aftermarket and and the gasket between the crankcase doesnt look right for such a clean saw giving me the impression someone has been in there before you.
  25. only ever one on the 171 181 and 211. Bin that tool less side cover and get the parts needed for conversion from either of the mentioned models as they all fit.
