  1. Tbf the truck was recently bought from the council and it has never been worked so its a shock to it plus the springs used to sit level when it's empty so they were bad weight carriers to start with with delivery it's and hour and a half trip there and the same back so why pay £360 delivery when the blocks were only £120? The thread is called Overloaded eh? This is my contribution and I'm the only person in the thread who's had 2 pages of folk going on about it if I wasn't overloaded I wouldn't of posted I knew exactly what I was doing and the spring snapped but I've ordered better stronger ones so it'll carry weight better that's it ? Jack
  2. Even a 7.5 tonne wagon isn't rated for that weight but can carry twice as much I like the American Ford f550 there a good lucking truck with a 12000lb payload and really good towing capacity Jack
  3. So what vehicle do I need? ? Jack
  4. To me a transit payload isn't even a ton what good is that? A big body and once you fill a corner it's overweight its a load of rubbish they should be a 6 ton vehicle with a 3500kg tow weight or 9000kg train weight they manage that weight perfect if anything it wants bigger brakes but the engine pulls it perfect Jack
  5. That's got me back on the road ordered 3+1 extra heavy duty springs so it'll carry more ? Jack
  6. Delivery of sand is about 78+vat but couldn't be delivered until next week as there wagon was off the road and a new spring was £30 from the scrap yard and took me 2 hours to fit Jack
  7. Put 2 ton of sand on the truck today realised it wasn't sitting right looked and boom spring had snapped ?? Jack
  8. So since it isn't locked in I can just lift the soldiers take the bed of sand out and and re lay them on the sub-base with a bed of concrete ehh? Cheers for the pic Jack
  9. Once I've got the sets laid and cuts placed in and all sanded and whacked that's when I put a concrete lip right around always put at least 18" wide by 12" high and it doesn't seem to shift I appreciate you telling me what's actually wrong rather than saying your works shit then blocking me but I work how I've been taught that's the only way I know roadbuilding we put the kerbs in first but driveways ect just lay & lock them then put the concrete around the perimeter Jack
  10. They sell on the market quickly enough so can't be all that bad Jack
  11. Also that 1st picture was taken recently and when I laid the sets 3 years ago that crack wasn't in the concrete path Jack
  12. Well I worked on new build sites for a big company for 2 years putting driveways in and flagging footpaths and road building using that method that's the way I was shown and it has always worked I am grateful for the positive criticism but there is also more than one way to skin a cat Jack
  13. What's up with it?
  14. If folk don't like me I'd rather they say tbh I'm no mind reader if they don't like the way I pay folk tough luck Jack
  15. That's the blocks in the photo on the truck and trailer
  16. Thanks @Woodworks I thought the same that's why I posted but hey ho Jack
  17. That's the same reject blocks 3 year down the line haven't moved snapped or anything just a mis match of colour Jack
  18. I pay £30 a pack straight from the factory if I go to Travis Perkins the exact same blocks are £148 + vat per packet
  19. Risking lives? The truck went no faster than 30mph on back roads with Amber light and hazards on so avoiding busy highways and what's pikey about that gear? It's a transit tipper and a indespention plant trailer ?
  20. That's polite ehh no better vocabulary than that
  21. Just seen the thread and thought I'd contribute the reg ect is hidden like
  22. Went all the back roads on the way home to avoid the cops and took the time and drove sensible it was something like 80 mile trip and got that much on needed to do it in the one load
  23. Yeah 4 packs 50mm blocks
  24. All in all it weighed in just less than 9 ton pulled perfect up 17% in clines and brakes worked well on 20% slopes cost me £40 in diesel the company were asking 300+vat to deliver the blocks only cost £30 per pack and the trailer is 2700 but it pulled well the tyres are old but still hold air well
  25. Is this overloaded? ??
