  3. My tails getting shorter! Do stop! [emoji16]
  4. I only missed two words…. Positive and negative, you got my drift! [emoji30]
  5. Impulse line is a rubber tube, connected between the crankcase and carb, the crankcase side creates a pressure which in turn creates a vacuum on the carb side thus pumping fuel from the tank.
  6. [emoji6][emoji16]
  7. I’ve never used one, i just tend to pry in places that dont cause harm and use the aid of a vice along with a small copper hammer, but i’m just rough! 🤠 (sure Spud’s gona go all fury on me and call me a wanker for doing so [emoji16]) but i just take my time and use a bit of patience. You can buy the chinese splitting tool for peanuts but never seen one in action or felt one so can’t comment. Just do what you feel comfortable with, and if your unsure then do what your doing now and just ask away, someone will have an idea or answer for ya.
  8. You are a font of knowledge sir! Every day is a school day! 🤠[emoji106]
  9. Yeah with ya! Mate had a yam tzr with plated bores, piston broke up and destroyed the bore, hence the coming to know about the bores being plated, cost to do up saw the rest of the bike stripped for bits.
  10. Be a peach if it is a genuine cylinder that will clean up! What makes you think it is Spud? I can make out the ‘A’ etched on the top but didnt really associate it to anything, and the plug looks like an ebay special. Were the 038 cylinders finished differently? As in they were a plated bore as opposed to a nikasil coated, sure i’ve read it somewhere [emoji848]
  11. Looks like an aftermarket top end for sure. OEM prices will see the saw in the skip, i’d be tempted to put a new aftermarket top end on it again, split the cases and fit new seals and bearings, renew all rubber bits, fit a new carb kit and go from there. Be a good learning experience for ya, plenty good advice to be had on here from folks, keep everybody updated on progress, enjoy it [emoji106]
  12. Oy! [emoji16]
  13. Lost Murphy in 2010 and lost Agg’s in 2020, house feels empty without one (or two) but being on my own now wouldn’t be fair to have another being alone for 8-9hrs a day whilst i’m at work! Will get another (or more) in time when it suits [emoji106]
  14. Sounds like you’ve had a good day! [emoji108] My “good day” [emoji16] consisted of a full days worth of splitting beech and scotch pine topping my wood store up, with the highlights for company being from a few woodlice and millipedes scurrying around! 🤣 think you win Doug! Hands down!!! [emoji16]
  15. Cracker!!! [emoji106]
  16. Looks a typical characterful one! Had mine for a few years at same time as i had my boxer in her early years before i had to have him put to sleep, he suffered fits at 3yrs old and was diagnosed with epilepsy, was gutted! Used to wind each other up and cause all sorts of havoc! Miss the pair of em big time!!!
  17. Prices are mad on all second hand vehicles at min! But as they’re not being made anymore i suspect you’ll never lose on it. And judging by your previous posts on vehicles you look after stuff so will prob work in your favour too.
  18. Quality Mark! Used to have a Staffy many years ago, proper loyal dogs [emoji108]

  20. Was thinking similar, something being partially lodged causing excess pressure resulting in the rod being bent. But also the fact its worn the gudgeon pin on one side with needle bearing indentations evident (think thats what OP said) could suggest the main bearing is worn allowing the rod to run on the tilt maybe. A pic of the rod length ways might shed a bit of light
  21. If you rotate the crank can you see any signs of wear on the insides of the crank webs/counter weights?
  22. Most Stihl stockists will have them in, bout £9-£10
  23. Well… good day had watching the cars, spuddog still learning the techniques regards operating a camera though! [emoji16] video’d himself more than he did the cars! 🤣 back home now, fire lit, blowing a gale outside now and temperature dropped to 5c, blowing a good en outside! Big difference from daytime temp and sunny intervals beating down!
  24. Thats big money for that period in time! [emoji6][emoji16]
  25. Snap! Out watching north west stages with Spuddog, Little breeze but nothing to complain about. I’ll be warm enough either way…. He likes to park 10 miles away from any spectator spots! 🤠
