  1. Be a peach if it is a genuine cylinder that will clean up! What makes you think it is Spud? I can make out the ‘A’ etched on the top but didnt really associate it to anything, and the plug looks like an ebay special. Were the 038 cylinders finished differently? As in they were a plated bore as opposed to a nikasil coated, sure i’ve read it somewhere [emoji848]
  2. Looks like an aftermarket top end for sure. OEM prices will see the saw in the skip, i’d be tempted to put a new aftermarket top end on it again, split the cases and fit new seals and bearings, renew all rubber bits, fit a new carb kit and go from there. Be a good learning experience for ya, plenty good advice to be had on here from folks, keep everybody updated on progress, enjoy it [emoji106]
  3. Oy! [emoji16]
  4. Lost Murphy in 2010 and lost Agg’s in 2020, house feels empty without one (or two) but being on my own now wouldn’t be fair to have another being alone for 8-9hrs a day whilst i’m at work! Will get another (or more) in time when it suits [emoji106]
  5. Sounds like you’ve had a good day! [emoji108] My “good day” [emoji16] consisted of a full days worth of splitting beech and scotch pine topping my wood store up, with the highlights for company being from a few woodlice and millipedes scurrying around! 🤣 think you win Doug! Hands down!!! [emoji16]
  6. Cracker!!! [emoji106]
  7. Looks a typical characterful one! Had mine for a few years at same time as i had my boxer in her early years before i had to have him put to sleep, he suffered fits at 3yrs old and was diagnosed with epilepsy, was gutted! Used to wind each other up and cause all sorts of havoc! Miss the pair of em big time!!!
  8. Prices are mad on all second hand vehicles at min! But as they’re not being made anymore i suspect you’ll never lose on it. And judging by your previous posts on vehicles you look after stuff so will prob work in your favour too.
  9. Quality Mark! Used to have a Staffy many years ago, proper loyal dogs [emoji108]

  11. Was thinking similar, something being partially lodged causing excess pressure resulting in the rod being bent. But also the fact its worn the gudgeon pin on one side with needle bearing indentations evident (think thats what OP said) could suggest the main bearing is worn allowing the rod to run on the tilt maybe. A pic of the rod length ways might shed a bit of light
  12. If you rotate the crank can you see any signs of wear on the insides of the crank webs/counter weights?
  13. Most Stihl stockists will have them in, bout £9-£10
  14. Well… good day had watching the cars, spuddog still learning the techniques regards operating a camera though! [emoji16] video’d himself more than he did the cars! 🤣 back home now, fire lit, blowing a gale outside now and temperature dropped to 5c, blowing a good en outside! Big difference from daytime temp and sunny intervals beating down!
  15. Thats big money for that period in time! [emoji6][emoji16]
  16. Snap! Out watching north west stages with Spuddog, Little breeze but nothing to complain about. I’ll be warm enough either way…. He likes to park 10 miles away from any spectator spots! 🤠
  17. Well you’ve stumped me there Spud!!! I linked the kit above because L&S were showing out of stock….. [emoji848] just looked again and now showing in stock 🤷‍♂️ and £20 cheaper! You win!…. Again!!! [emoji30][emoji16]

  21. F R Jones are £1234 inc vat with a 16” bar and chain. If they are as good as perceived then maybe the price can be justified to a daily pro user (which i am not) the saving alone in fuel + oil mix compared to the cost of charging a battery will soon mount up. Shame they dont do a two battery offer, (but sure they will at some places in time) I’ll stick with my 220 for now as does everything i need it too. Maybe upgrade in a few yrs time when any niggles that may arise are ironed out and prices come down a little (or not 🤣) I have the safety button on the 220, (slightly different but same concept) no issues at all, soon get used to it, and it encourages you to position your hand in the right place regards holding it properly. Kinda takes away that complacency we can all get of using a saw that may result in an injury. After all they dont just pinch or nip ya, they bite hard or tare ya!
  22. Looking like prices are going to be £1200 - £1300 ish with one battery and charger. Think i paid £700 ish for my 220 with two batteries and a charger. So a fair chunk more to buy, getting towards nearly double in price, but it does look and sound a fair thing! Cheers for sharing Steve [emoji106]
  23. Donkey running on alkylate fuel will mean less methane coming out the exhaust though eh! Good on the old emissions front 🤠 (or back even) 🤣
