You got a lot of narrow lanes then in Devon J? [emoji16]
  4. I’ll just keep taking them apart, stupid not to take the pan off and check crank / bearings / piston / cylinder etc for the sake of 4 bolts and a splurge of hylomar, its less than 30mins to have one fully stripped and in bits, it takes longer to clean everything.
  5. No, just 14” 3/8 mainly, have dropped to a 12” on it at present purely because it suits my needs and also with a view of it giving me a little extra run time on the batteries, less chain length less drag being the theory. Would imagine it’ll pull the 16” fine providing chains kept sharp but i wouldnt fancy putting an 18” or bigger on personally
  6. Pass! 🤷‍♂️ but you defo cant do em cos the clutch / oil pump side seal is partially hidden behind the crackcase housing once the engine is all in place. Think you’ll visualise what i mean from pics below
  7. Not got the bottom pan but you can see the two ridges that the seal sits between and then lines up nice and square once theyre in situ.
  8. The puller you suggest will do for the pro saws, the 170 clamshell and the likes are homeowner saws. If its only your own time and the history of the saw is good and everything engine / crank wise is good then sometimes theyre worth doing. Caber rings £10 to ya door, bearings and seals about £15 to ya door (ok wont be oem but good enough for a home owner saw)
  9. The seals are clamped in between engine housing and sump pan if ya will, and sit behind a lip, they won’t pull out or press in, hence the full strip down and split apart, shall post a pic in a bit, got an old motor in a box lying around i think [emoji848]
  10. Little Clamshell engine Paddy, its full strip to remove it out of the crankcase body. Be daft not to replace main bearings and re ring it if its coming that far in bits. Depending on condition of cylinder / piston / crank etc.

Clean it and tweek it, sell as is, prob get about £100 - £110 maybe. Stick a bar and chain on it and might be nearer £130 - £140 maybe.
  12. Ya must paddle around in a big pond! 🦆🦆
  13. Ya dont help yaself [emoji849]
