  1. Hi All, bit of a rookie question but what's the exact rule regarding cutting back overhanging branches. Just to boundary at risk of leaving a stub or not a textbook growth point? or can you can back to trunk neatly? Imagine tree say overhanging customer'sgarden but inside neighbours garden by a foot or so .Cheers
  2. That's cleared it up cheers. Yes all registered and received UTR number. And thats about it. I was expecting a load of stuff explaining when books go in, how you pay, what can and can't go though etc. I will use an account but just wanted some clarification as I'm going to be making some purchases on the card. Cheers
  3. Hi all, I'm new to self employment (april) and use my credit card now and again but wondering if I'm able to put the purchases though my books? Ive heard it's fine, then others have said for instance if I only paid the minimum payments, that's all they'd account for in the year. I've no idea how it works, got no "info pack" or something like I was expecting from HMRC and told I don't get a tax bill till 2020. Can anyone clear up this credit card issue for me. Cheers
  4. Just looked it was rea valley tractors so may not have a massive range
  5. I think these a stihl dealer between uttoxeter and marchington. Passed the other day but not sure on name it has stihl banners etc outside
  6. Sip innovation 2 for me [emoji108]
  7. Ive done a very rough one [emoji23] Log roughly knee height. Round the edges off one end then, Cut round the log so far through to create the shroom. Place round edge down and cut downward to create the stalk meeting up with the round cut leaving a sort of hash pattern and remove all but the middle square. That probably makes no sense but worth a go! Use a 150 or something for the cutting and remember you can always take more off but can't put it back on!
  8. Climbed off a boa bridge for probs a year when I got my zig zag no problem fisherman each end round the metal shackle
  9. That will be fine just get rid of the tape sling. As above, climbing line, bowline end with crab then timber hitched to stem, then id lose the extra setup the closer in you get, as the swing shouldn't be that much if the stems roughly follow the pic
  10. I've stopped a few times at Labrador bay, roadside car park looking out to see near teignmouth way but that's probably abit far? Near to a site think called ocean view
  11. Hi All, yes fine after charged. Not let down at all. Thanks for your help
  12. I've gone as hard as pollarding Rowan in the past and it's come back fine
  13. Bloody hope so I'm off at 615 ?
  14. Unfortunately jump pack not charged [emoji849] so ive left the machine on charge, I have cranked it so there's abit of life more than earlier but not enough to fire yet. Cheers
  15. Hi Jase. It's the RDS box cheers
  16. Hi Jase, thanks for the help. Tried cleaning flywheel as there was abit of chip round blades. Flywheel turns free. Battery terminals are tight all be it leads abit corroded. Waiting on my dad to pop a jump pack round. Are we good to use this with anti stress etc?
  17. Hi all just hired an old eco 1623 greenmech turn key and I get batt on dash. There's no isolator key but presuming it's on as the system has power? What can cause the batt message on dash. Place closed and need to be away in morning before they open!
  18. Not really had the need for a narrow access chipper yet but I must say that tracked chipper looks absolutely brilliant. Pushing 200kg or whatever over rough garden or a slight incline no thanks. Is there a reason greenmech didn't produce one? Missed a massive market imo
  19. Id buy a small grinder, imo larger stumps can be subbed or hire in a bigger grinder, but can be a ballache with time on site etc. I make good money on the small ones upto 14". I bought a second hand sg13 for £1200 in mid may and already cleared around £450. May not seem massive money but I'm happy
  20. You will require at least 3 years experience climbing to be up to standard for subby work imo. That's not just topping Connie for 3 years. That's everything small to large, over any obstacle etc. Don't start your own business at that time of year it's quiet for even some of the bigger established companies
  21. Don't think you'll be doing anything big enough to bore through for a dog tooth. 2 step cuts in board and outboard, step cut and chuck and a "fold" cut (my term for it) branch with gob on top, back cut underneath and finished with silky. Branch then folded up and over and thrown. That was mine anyway
  22. Theyre not his trees they overhang his property from the neighbour's. Neighbour said do whatever he wants even after brown/reduction discussion so really not sure what to do, I'm still at the get back to you with a price stage. Which I never do it's usually a quote straight away [emoji848] regarding taking them out, there's so much timber and waste in them. I don't want to put a sky high price in so I don't get it, I'm newly set up, so don't want to come across as a rob dog. I think this will be a walk away job. Cheers
  23. Hi all, ive looked at a job earlier cutting back some large overhanging conifers on the front of a property covering 8 fence panels in length. As much as I've discussed the browning of conifers to the client, he is adamant he wants it back that far. Pretty much skinning them off all the way up. It will look absolutely horrendous, on view of everybody around so just to cover my back from any comeback I'm thinking of him signing a disclaimer saying basically it's on his back the asthetical outcome and I offered my professional opinion. What you think? Thanks
  24. Just made this up to see what it's like. Couple of small jobs tomorrow. Cheers15266645386731526664564679
  25. In fact still got an old echo chain. Doesn't look too bad, but trying to get it back in the bar is a no go, vice hammered etc. Thibk this was within a few mins of putting on15265847708031526584806996
