  1. Oregon 91vxl i believe Steve, same as what I use for all other top handles
  2. Used an echo 360 tes great saw but my god it threw chains. No idea why cutting with top of bar it would throw chains and wreck the drive links
  3. 2005 ranger- can't work out mpg but 20 quid is 100 miles, roof height chip box and ladders on
  4. Hi all, I recently purchased my first 4x4 and things are going well, if just like some advice as to fine tune my chip box. I'd like to know how much higher I can go. Currently 60cm above standard sides. Don't want it ridiculously high, but when I'm chipping, it seems to fill sort of 2/3 the way up then slug towards the tailgate and I have to keep shovelling up. I know its not the best but so much better than dropping a trailer on job before hand etc. Thanks
  5. Thanks all. I'll probs get some sealer/varnish stuff tomorrow especially for the edges, then I'll wrap it, round the corners too then probably put some 20mm angle all round. 8x4 sheet of marine was 70 odd quid, the ply I got and 2x2 was around half that!
  6. It's normal wbp exterior ply. I couldn't stretch to the marine just yet. Thanks
  7. Hi all, I've just put a ply chip box on my new 4x4, but I'm awaiting delivery of some vinyl to wrap it. There's meant to be some poor weather coming next few days, will the ply last until the vinyl comes? Should be here Thursday. Don't want it ruined already. Cheers
  8. That's one of my main things, my eldest is fine for getting in the back of my 3dr car now and clipping him self in, then i check it before we set off. But im also going to make a sort of ply box to put in the back for my kit. Mainly to keep it clean from chain oil etc- Hence another need for doors. It's all between d40 navara and ranger. I am going towards a king cab.
  9. It does personally wind me up How, for instance last weekend I took a load of stuff from our house reno- 3.50 for a off cut of plaster board, bag of sample wall tiles 3.50. But he was ok for me to put the petrol jetwash that needed a wheel to "one side" So much crap gets dumped down our lanes, but charging for waste will just keep encouraging the scum
  10. I have a Clarke 24v cordless one. Abit bigger than I'd like but haven't come across anything it won't budge from cranķ bolts, rsj fixing etc
  11. That's good to hear! I rarely pick them both up but occasionally I have to get my youngest. Was worried about the seats but that's sound
  12. That's spot on. Thats the sort of thing I'll be doing. I want a super just for that extra bit of space, but need the seats. Thanks
  13. Exactly what I am looking at, or the mazda equivalent as they seem to be lower miles. Looks ample space in the back for my eldest car seat
  14. Hi all, I'm looking to get my first pickup, I'm a father of 2 (2yrs 5yrs) so will need pick up with seats on rear for occasionally picking up both lads. Question is, how much difference waste wise between say a navara d40 or ranger etc between the two cabs? I've read they are both 1500mm roughly long double cab and around 1700mm king/super versions. Does that extra make a massive bit of difference? Also- how high would you recommend the chip back to be? I was thinking along the blueprint of the high top truckman tops. Thanks
  15. These are self employed positions. Just needed to apply and send in my availability and rates. Thanka
  16. I've applied for a couple of jobs Steve, I'm not hanging around
  17. Well gents, it's been a week since our discussion, still at the stalemate, what happens when we get to april? Do I start earning my holiday etc? I want to know what's bloody happening!
  18. Anything else to rig off? Failing that +1 for powerful saw (661 25" bar) and get them off without shaking her. I've only done 2 removals with kretz, small if rigging brought pole down off mewp. The other was a cut and drop. What's the area below can't you free fall?
  19. Today chogging down last bit of a big stem [emoji3] feet were burning [emoji23]
  20. I know of HTM based in Birmingham. We've had them on sub contract work, but arranged through contractor.
  21. I use a bar against the fins and housing. Super clean the bolt heads out! Think they are t50
