  1. Well I have a mate who I trust who also did my website working out what he'll charge me and what service he'll actually offer on the SEO side so it might not be too expensive. Whether he knows exactly what he's doing though is another matter.... However, he did an excellent job on my website IMO and small adjustments are very affordable. I did get quoted £300 +vat per month from another company but my new guy did SEO for his old business and he talked me out of it. Said it was way too much. This new guy is not the guy doing the SEO btw. I was tempted but figured probably best to keep labour force separate to admin due to political bullshit and me getting too pissed off from multiple angles haha
  2. Took on an extra guy. Old buddy of mine from a long time. Yeah I know this is risky. But it's working out well. He's good, positive, knows his stuff and anything he doesn't know he intuits it. A tank also which takes more heavy work off my shoulders. Problem being, we are gunning through work. Peak season at the moment and I'm still not getting enough as it stands. I'm winning about 70% of my quotes also which even factors in the ones I quote higher cos I don't want them or need them so kinda know I'll lose. So realistically about 4 out 5 jobs that I want to do are won. I'm in the forest way. Not a hugely dense area housing wise. I don't work in town or past it. I don't market there due to adding sometimes 3 hours on to a day. Not to mention quote time and parking a van and trailer at job sites is sometimes impossible. I'm obviously looking at spending more money on advertising as I wont make it through winter unless I can double my leads. 2 main things I thought are flyer dropping the areas I want to work at 5000 at a time at an approx cost of £600 each Search engine optimisation. Not sure how beneficial this actually is for a smaller company with regard to ROI. It's also not cheap. Feedback well appreciated. Ta
  3. I see what you mean now. Yeah, ball ache. As Woody says the decorative ones are often 1.8. Highly annoying...
  4. I would be spitting feathers in that scenario OMG. Trellis is always 180 and panels 183. There is no way around that fact. Yeah I only supply and fit now. Also made that mistake once or twice. Also I only use suppliers of my choosing. They can like it or lump it. This is especially so with sheds that can be a right bugger if they are crap design and materials.
  5. Might only work if you have a business account.
  6. For me it's just for processing on the ground a bit to get stuff out of gardens. Not for actual tree work.
  7. I like how you think...
  8. Yeah it's just come out of flower but I think Nepia is right. The guidelines I was looking at yesterday must be based on Australian climate. Still researching...
  9. Anyone else notice on their Barclays phone app you can now take 4 photos per week of cheques up to £500 for next day clearance? This is bloody great. I currently have no Barclays near me so have to use the post office. Sometimes 2 weeks for a cheque to clear and recently one got lost. £2500 not in my account for nearly a month. I'm hoping they upgrade it to more cheques and higher amounts. 1k would be nice. Don't think many customers would begrudge having to write 2 or 3 cheques for a large ish fence job.
  10. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Worx-WG320-9-JawSaw-20V-PowerShare-Cordless-Electric-Chainsaw-With-Auto-Tension/163645264251?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160727114228%26meid%3D1c3fc12294ce4abc8349f416c99a7476%26pid%3D100290%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D312557237239%26itm%3D163645264251&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507 I don't think I need to tell you guys how useful one of these would be. If it's any good.. Opinions..
  11. Nothing useful to add I'm afraid. Sounds bloody terrible though. Maybe try acupuncture.
  12. Haha, just read this. So very true. I'll list my peeves - Customer wants to schedule a half day job when you're booked for 2 months in advance. Refuses to leave it flexible even if you will update them a few days in advance as time approaches to see if it's feasible. Quote it for flexible, adding 50% mark up for fixed date - No toilet Put a paint kettle in the van or pee in the chip box if it's pointed away from public eyes - Want 5 quote variations Ask budget or decline Quote £1500 and they say it's a bit much they would consider getting it done if can get below £1000 Tell them where to go Wisteria growing through the fence line If it dies it dies or double the quote Altering quote after the fact cos neighbour refuses to pay their half - Decline or cancel Unresolved boundary issues Run away Post positions have to be near a TPO'd Oak Run away Fence repairs cos they're too cheap to replace Tell them where to go or quote high and buy all manner of sundries to keep as stock if you don't need them The list is endless...
  13. Not sure. I'll go through my search history tomorrow and find out.
  14. You are correct Acacia Pycnantha, I'm reading info encouraging trimming or reducing DURING flower which is baffling me.
  15. Don't be ridiculous I can't do that. Something about the guy I personally don't like myself. I think he's possibly a bit of a glory hunter but I couldn't say for sure so I'll reserve judgement as I don't really know him. Still, glad he broke the law, in this case. If that's what he did. Why the hell does it even matter if someone, anyone, is reporting on a case at the sentencing. They'd been found guilty ffs. Who gives a damn. I only give a damn that their was a blanket media ban on the whole affair. You or I wouldn't be afforded that luxury.
  16. He was reporting also at the sentencing, not the trial so, again, bullshit. And screw the rule of law.
  17. That's a fair argument but it falls flat on its face when the premise is so systematically applied to the adherents of the religion of peace and not so often the case for everyone else.
  18. Per chance that was all there was on it. I don't read it, generally.
  19. Screw the rule of law. When the rule of law works in favour of "some" perverts and not others, which it does not in most kiddy fiddler cases, then the rule of law SHOULD be broken. Everything you quoted above is mainstream media which is practically automatic qualification for total bullshit.
  20. I have that exact blade and I don't rate it. Not very good at cutting anything frankly. Not that you can get a disc cutter more than 8 inches or so down a hole. You can get those long reach twin blade disc cutters which it would fit and perhaps be of good use but you're look at 1500 for the cutter and then x2 terrassaur blades. Problem being they wont last long if you're hitting concrete a lot of the time.
  21. There mere fact that anyone can support these vermin indicates phenomenal cultural issues beyond imagining.
