  2. What do you estimate the tipping facility weight on this kind of trailer. Can't be more than 200kg?? Do you reckon you have much increased height with tipper function. As said before this trailer wont really be used for tipping. Box can come off of my current trailer if required to load gravel etc. Mainly for panels, posts and postcrete etc that obv will be hand balled.
  3. You might be right. Can't hurt to have x2 tipper trailers. I do want something as low to the ground as possible though. Cages etc are not needed.
  4. In the market for another trailer. Current set up is this. What I think I want is a 12-14ft x 6- 6 1/2 foot trailer so I can leave the guys on site with this one which is ideal for chip, logs and general waste but shit for panels etcetera as it's 11 x 5 1/2ft. It currently tips 3 way. New trailer doesn't need to tip. I intend to store it at my yard and load with bags of rubble over a few days and then when I have a decent amount toss them over the side and empty them and then use it to load fencing materials. Torn between getting a plant trailer which will serve the above purpose but also be useful for driving chipper onto etcetera but not sure. Ideally a tilting plant trailer. Disadvantages of a plant trailer is that if I wanted to chuck on 2.5 tons of gravel I'd have to shovel out of it rather than a flat bed where I could raise the sides and just rake the stuff out. Opinions greatly appreciated. Ta

  6. Was gutted when Tywen died. I do like a straight talking hard nosed bastard. Then again I love Tryrian also. Great show. Best ever made IMO. Really loved Deadwood, Sopranos, and the New, now old, Battle Star Galactica also. Waiting for this season to end so I can binge watch the whole thing with the Mrs and Doritos and Port.
  7. Ah, I suspected but wasn't sure
  8. I don't. I was linked to the article. Not sure what above article is about but I assume, another bold faced lie of some description...
  9. Thanks very much, again, for this info. As far as I'm aware there is not. I do have some of my own terms and conditions that I've pulled out of my ass that seem to work OK but it's back to the whole, no one has signed anything scenario. I may start asking people who confirm jobs over the phone to please send a brief email confirming they are happy with the quote. I would imagine, this correspondence, along unsigned quotation pdf and images of work carried out, a small claims court would be sated in my favour in most cases.
  10. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/8956117/top-ukip-candidate-says-its-ok-to-rape-young-boys-in-sick-youtube-rant/?utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=sunmaintwitter&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1556442160 Utterly disgusted with the lengths and depths the media will now go to outright lying about people who don't fit their narrative. I'd find that journalist and beat him half to death and do the time gladly if that were me.
  11. I disagree and I think anyone in their right mind would, for example, trim back the self seeded ash that was growing through the sides of the conifer.
  12. Thanks for this excellent info. How the hell do you know all this stuff.. Does a quote presented via pdf that doesn't have a signature at the bottom, but via email is confirmed as being acceptable stand up in court if someone was to dispute anything? I used to have people sign quotes but I noticed a significant drop in conversion once I implemented it so I stopped doing it. Ta
  13. They go bigger. I had a 14ft one and whilst yeah it was a good peice of kit. Stowing, storing and transporting was a PITA. Also, hanging off the side and 12ft up reaching over with a long handle hedge trimmer is bloody hard work and precarious. Mobile tower for me and if not accessible with one then I decline those jobs now. Bloody hate high hedges anyway.
  14. Calm down guys they paid. And I've only ever added to an invoice twice in my life. Both times the matter was discussed with customer before work recommenced as considerable extra unforeseen work was required.
  15. Sorry you can do it with aluminium as well with these. I might get the cheaper aluminium one if I can buy parts for it. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Durafix-Aluminium-Welding-Easyweld-Brush/dp/B00GG09068
  16. If you get a galvanised steel one I think you can reinforce/ repair it with those blow torch meltable thingies quite easily. I'm looking down the same route myself so watching this thread.
  17. Only a few days past the terms but due to zero correspondence at any stage immediately after invoicing, yet plenty of rapid correspondence in planning the job, you immediately think the worst. She seemed nice enough but invoices were going to husband and was hearing nothing. I'll start writing "let me know you have received this invoice" at the bottom of emails containing it. Also I'm going to put in my terms and conditions that materials are my property until invoice is paid. I may also change terms to invoice to be paid upon receipt. Fuck it, don't care if it puts peoples backs up.
  18. Was texted yesterday that payment will be made this weekend and wished a happy easter. My reply of thanks is pending though so I'm not optimistic but we'll see.
  19. I'm not too stressed. I'm flat out atm so money is flowing nicely but 1k is 1k. I will see how this solicitor thing goes with asking for the invoice and court. Be useful to experience the process. If not I'll rip the gates off with a crow bar and have my day in court. I know this is illegal but I also know this sort of thing is viewed favourably if evidence is presented.
  20. Aint that the truth and how often it happens. This has happened twice in 10 year now. Both have been wealthy ish.
  21. Only got mobile and email
  22. Yeah, sure that's what I'll do if it comes to it. But it's still annoying having to pursue quite wealthy people for money knowing that if they get pissed off about it they can slander me. I'll shrug it off of course and reply exactly as you've stated, and show images, but it does annoy me that it's possible.
  23. Probably not once you've got a few shit reviews but when you've got 190 without a single blemish, it does help your business. I get people phone me from the U.S to work on their property and they never see the job in person.
  24. Typically they are 45 mins away but yeah if it comes to that yeah definitely. Cannot stand scum like this. I pay everyone I owe on the dot. Never would dream of doing otherwise.
