  1. I still have one and the tapered auger that matches it. When I was apprenticed as a carpenter I used them to make a pole ladder, that also required me to rip down a timber scaffold pole. I still possess the ladder.
  2. Glad to see they are back, I counted over 20 of them at one point. A procession of adults bringing in the supplies.
  3. Still looking for a handle for my adze, it's been in the family for at least 150 years and was last used by me to cut the tenons on arris rails. They were supported in a V notch in a piece of 4x2.
  4. For what it's worth, I had the same problem with my L200, turned out to be dodgy relay, quick swap, problem cured.
  5. When I am running sheep in the winter I cut a strip around the pastures for the electric fence with my faithful ford 39/10 and votex topper, this copes with the usual brambles and ever encroaching blackthorn. Bit wider than the op wants, but the principle is the same. Wonder what happened to the Bamford Bandit?
  6. I've often wondered about the top cutting edge of the tooth having a chisel edge from a grinder and a slightly undercut edge from a round file.
  7. Lodge rl47 spark plug and a gentle touch have always worked for me.
  8. Often out in the garden, we have a red kite doing low speed aerobatics about 50' up. It seems to be looking for us to provide food, do people feed them I wonder?
  9. I've dealt with a few hung up windblown and always used a steel rope.
  10. I had this happen a few years ago, the steel/rubber bond breaks down. From memory, I had the same problem with a Jet80 sidecar in the last century.
  11. Not forgetting water mains, telephone, electric, gas and fibre optic.
  12. That could easily be one of my sites.
  13. Get it gone while you have the chance.
  14. Saw her in Horsham a couple of weeks ago and she looked pretty good.
  15. If that outer casing is old I should be very wary of putting too much pressure in it. Is the valve offset on the tube or is it central. The other thing you could do is drill another hole for the valve, (blanking the old one off of course)
  16. I think he also said porridge was best food as it tasted the same coming up as it did going down.
  17. Bit of a push for a wheelbarrow then, pity cos I have a windblown chestnut you could of had a hack at.
  18. Where are you?

    Tax tax tax

Stocks and shares ISA is probably a better bet than a pension, unless you can amass a pot of around the one to two million pounds. A small pension will just get you means tested out of any state benefits.
  20. Yeah, might change my mind when I simmer down, £30 a year after all.
  21. I cleared a fifteen acre field in two days ( about seven moles) Two years later all back. Luckily its lightish soil, so doesn't take too much off the haycutter blades.
  22. Nevertheless I might just bow out and let it go, I virtually only use it for moles now anyway. I gave up clays a good few years ago and grey squirrels just creates a swiftly filled vacuum. It is as you say just a form filling exercise, with no actual examination.
