Get the local FC bloke in. Get a management plan and even a felling license. He or she will give good local advice -

Now I don’t bother with xmas trees being a member of the church of latter day tight arses but my daughter is coming for Xmas and she wants one. Is there a problem with just using the top 8ft of one of the many N Spruces that I will be felling? Anyone done that? I can’t see a problem

it's not that Yemen isn't important, it's been going on for yonks and why should it be on the news regularly if there is nothing new. bringing to light terrible practices that are going on in our community is important. FGM for instance is sl more difficult to get away with now because of a news item.

just finished my drying shed using green timber. ok, nothing used with more finesse than a chainsaw but it's a start and now i can season wood for more projects including decking, a nice big man shed, a shed for my boy's trainset, a swedish bbq hut and a new garage roof.
