Wood eating bacteria release co2 stored in wood. 300 million years ago with no wood eating bacteria, oxygen levels hit 35%. wood turned to coal. climate change is a disease! clearly the bacteria should be stopped. i for one will be writing a most stern letter to the council. ?

I'm told it's illegal in France to have any sort of bonfire anytime of year now. the human respiratory system has some defence against wood smoke. But look into what's happening in Africa and Asia about air pollution in huts with no chimney. serious breathing difficulties and lung problems after decades. new designs of mud/stone/clay which are similar to rocket stoves are much cleaner burn, which then increases longevity.

If you've got mountains of brambles to deal with, my weapon of choice is a long reach hedge trimmer. Set the head level with the ground and chop away. Don't get too close to the ground though! [emoji106]

Yup, The major and the super are much faster.

Eliet make a shredder chipper. Our local dealer hires them out. They have knives instead of a big blade. Work well with green stuff apparently. [emoji106]

The TS500i cut off saw retails at £1092 inc vat in the catalogue. The ms462 with 25" bar is £1200 inc vat. So that's the ball park.

462 is already out isn't it? It's in the catalogue. The 500i will be in the same weight range but considerably more powerful.

One of the few things I miss about working in France is eating a 3or4 course meal every lunchtime. Sandwiches are really sh*t in comparison. ☹️

Personal preference, Whichever dealer is closer. My preference would be a stihl 461 with 25" bar. However they are nearly obsolete as stihl are launching the 462mtronic and the 500i injection over the next few months. Just my advice, but hold off, have a look on tinternet Deutschland for a 500i or ask your dealer. [emoji106]
