Ive resawn Two to three year oak on my Mill without a problem. I did tighten the band past the optimum setting though. Cut nice.

Im 6.1" I think Id prefer the X25 than the X27 to be honest, but I like a slightly higher chopping Block. At 5.7" I feel you'd be at an even bigger disadvantage than myself. The light weight means you really have to swing on slightly knotty stuff like Spruce. I have the Husky S1600 as well, nice little splitting axe. Perfect for straight grained hardwood.

There’s something seriously wrong with you Less. A Logosol B1001 would suit a Farmer down to the ground if he wanted a new Mill. They are a well built Mill. The OP asked me my experiences with mine B751 and I was happy to answer his questions. Now you may well say Woodmizers are the best, but what Mills have you personally owned yourself? For sure! A log deck is simply the best solution. Gently roll the log on by hand. No shocks or judders to the Mill and checking alignment again. (Portable) But out in the field I do like the Avant. It’s very manoeuvrable. The log grab allows me to position the log any which way I like and can be eased onto the bed. Does not always work out that way of course. ? I also have the Winch and ramps. Also works great.

I think they are Bacho? Could be worth looking on their site as Logosol will most likely stock Logosol Sizes? Thinking about hard dry wood I’m planning on re-sawing dry Ash Slabs. [emoji33] Guess I need to look into Carbide blades or some frozen timber ones.
