  1. People whining on forums about every day small talk
  2. I think Id go for a known branded one
  3. So......where you winning or not?
  4. We have needed a major step-change for a long time now, Globalization has a lot to answer for and if we are to reduce our consumption of oil transporting tat and Avacados inadvertently because of a lack of drivers then so be it I find locally poroduced items quite cheap, 25kg bags of Maris Piper tatties for £7,50 lasts us ages and is significantly cheaper than Tescos, carrots in 10kg net bags from Harbros for £3, you just need to know where to go, And if significantly more people shopped locally then the price should in theory come down It all sounds like a win/win
  5. I kind of covered that with my earlier two comments.
  6. I kinda covered that with this post earlier, its my take on it anyway.
  7. Paints a picture I guess?
  8. Name the last Labour leader that was not.
  9. Well if nothing else it will reduce our Carbon footprint, mean cleaner air and less contested roads. We’d also be consuming less Chinese crap and perhaps have to start buying more locally.
  10. Not to mention these supposedly easy to qualify events are easy to qualify for the vast majority of the first world. Europe, Russia, USA, Canada, Scandinavia, Japan Australia and NZ. So it’s still very commendable for the U.K. to place where they do.
  11. I guess most folk consider financial wealth as “rich”. But as you say you can be considered rich by other parameters. I’ve been happily married for coming on 21 years now. 4 kids with her and been together since she was 15 and I 18. We have a happy home and enjoy various pursuits together and we’re all perfectly healthy . I’d consider that rich beyond the vast majority of the worlds population. I do feel I’m sacrificing to much off my life for my job. But that’s really due to Covid these days. Normally I work 80-120 days a year. Apart from that I’m home with the kids. I really can’t complain.
  12. That’s the best way. But if some unknown distant relative died and leaves me a million or two I’ll not complain.
  13. I’ve always guessed he was rich!
  14. Anyway, 4th in the world. Amazing result and one the whole of the U.K. should be extremely proud of.
  15. Not seen much on here regarding the UKs outstanding performance at the Olympics this year Fourth overall is simply an amazing achievement for our small island 22 Golds for GB, the next best European country managed 10. Not bad for the sick man of Europe I guess? https://www.visualcapitalist.com/olympic-medal-count-tokyo-2020/
  16. Ive messaged you through FB as requested
  17. Interesting that shavings is worth that much. I think Ill be creating a bit of shavings with my new Log Home Log Moulder and Im looking to sell the shavings, I already have a Horsely Girl looking to buy but Im not sure what the going rate is
  18. Well thats a shame. Maybe he should apply?
  19. I like that Flight Attendant, so funny. I bet his briefings are first class.
  20. Norway very rarely burns softwood from my experience. To them Birch is king and they import huge quantities from Eastern Europe. Like most I like a mix of hard and softwood. But I’ve been burning a lot of Larch this last year and it’s been great on it’s own.
  21. Well, its a moot point until these countries have a referendum on it. Keep in mind the main reason the Tories allowed the UK a referendum vote was they where so sure the UK would vote remain. None of the Polls had the UK down for leaving. All our views on this subject are empirical. As J pointed out we all move in very different circles, the very much international one I work in is clearly different than the one you move in in France. From my POV your reasoning the net contributors would not vote to leave is reality only in your head.
  22. Of all the Countries to get a referendum to leave the EU so far 100% have left.
