  1. Hi Jase, I’ve already replaced the pump.
  2. Unfortunately for me your assumption was correct, it seemed ok for a couple of days but then went back to being a pain in the arse!!! However, since then I’ve bitten the bullet and fitted a new fuel pump/module, seemed ok yesterday then boom…..back to not starting when warm. Strange thing is though, if I pull the fuel line off the top of the fuel filter for a split second and then push back on, it fires up no problem. I’m well confused and a little poorer than I was last week. Sounds stupid but I just don’t have the time to take and leave it at a dealership.
  3. Hi, honestly didn’t know there were 2 pumps. It’s the one just above the fuel filter. Cost was £114. Looks like this. And yes I have old one still
  4. Hi Jase, yes did a service on it at the same time so all filters and oil and a soapy wash, it’s been spoiled today 😂
  5. Yes, fitted a new fuel pump tonight and it seems to have solved the issue 😇. Started and stopped it a dozen or so times and so far so good.
  6. Hi all, anyone got the belt codes/numbers for an FSI B22 grinder. Just do I can keep spares on the van. thanks
  7. Hi Jase, yes in-line filter changed
  8. Hi, anyone any ideas why chipper starts from cold but sometimes struggles once warm to start up again? But then leave for 10 mins and starts first turn again 🤔. Changed plug and all filters but no joy. It’s a 150 petrol 2019 just over 450 hours. thanks
  9. There was such an easy way to get that moving, but best not tell them how 🙄. Machine was even running on the trailer, thick as shit. Shame it didn’t tip off when they were trying to push it on. Impressive cameras though 👍
  10. Is that a one off payment? And how do they get potential clients for you?
  11. Easily, he charges £350 to be super competitive, goes home with £70-80 in pocket after fuel and he’s helping the economy by hiring kit, thus keeping people in jobs 😜. It’s not all about money 😂
  12. You’ll probably find it easier to hire a chipper than it is to find an actual arb van. Hire places like Spectrum plant will do a chipper for a day/week/month etc. vans are usually contract hire and long term. You’ll find a standard tipper to hire but I’ve never seen one with high sides/chip hood (however I could be wrong). Obviously the shorter the hire it’s going to cost more per day so would this be viable on your day rate. Only you can answer that.
  13. Wow, one lucky guy. Hope you make a good recovery in time and thanks for sharing your incident details with us. Some may call you stupid, but every one of us has taken a risk at one time or another just to be a little quicker, or not even giving it a second thought. I’m sure a few folk reading your post will stop and think about about being more cautious in future. Stay positive and I sincerely wish you and your family well for the future. Hope you keep us updated on your recovery journey, stay positive and don’t be afraid to ask for help, even if it’s just a chat on here.
  14. I find FB is good for getting your profile and reviews out there, but for us it only brings the people who have already arranged for 5 quotes and will still want it cheaper than the “cash in hand local handyman”. To be fair, I’m thinking of deleting the business page off there, less hassle and wasted callbacks. We do pay for advertising in local mags which gets us a good return. Like anything, you get what you pay for.
  15. Hi, sorry if this topic has already been posted way too many times, but…..is keeping a 7.5t tipper like a grafter or fuso an 100% no to keeping on a private driveway, and subject to having no objections from neighbouring property? Or does the overall vehicle size not play a part in it, just that it’s over 3.5t TIA 😬
  16. So, turns out the little flat spring that activates the switch had somehow gone the wrong side of the trigger (marked in red), so wasn’t switching off completely. At least it’s something and nothing. Learn something everyday 😎
  17. Hi, my battery Husqvarna has just started playing up. When the trigger is released the chain/motor stops for second then very slowly begins to creep around. If you apply and then release the chain brake it stops. The cycle then repeats at every trigger press. any ideas?
  18. If anything, the thing that got me was the boredom. Yes the pain every time you move a little isn’t great, but after being used to being busy all the time, 2 days in and I was going insane. You won’t even get your own socks on 🤣. Honestly, do not try to rush back, easier said than done though. Hope all goes well 👌. This jobs a hard game 🥵
  19. Exactly, some people think it won’t effect them but if a decorator for example, spends a week at your house working, and travels in a non compliant van, that’s another £50 on your bill at least.
  20. Imagine working for someone on a set wage and your vehicle is getting charged. That’s £50 a week out of pocket to get to work.
  21. I can easily add the charge on the quote/job for my tipper vehicle, but my pickup is my only other means of transport. So nipping to the shop etc or picking the grandkids up at weekend is going to cost 🤣
  22. Hi, no charge on motorways, but in Bolton you can’t get to the motorways without passing a camera just before every entry junction
  23. Hi everyone , hope Christmas was good to you all. Not sure if many know about the Greater Manchester clean air zone charge? And it’s the WHOLE of the zone not just the city centre. From 2023 any pre 2016 diesel van, pickup, motor home, horse box will be charged from £10 per day when used, business or private. That’s an average of 2.5-3k per year on running costs per vehicle. Please could everyone join the current FB group that are trying to get the scheme cancelled. Nothing may come of it but there’s no harm trying. Any input on the page would be greatly appreciated. https://www.facebook.com/groups/greatermanchestercaz
  24. Just build your own, we got this done by ourselves yesterday. Cheap n cheerful. £90 for the box section, £350 for the Ali checker plate, £30 on bits n bobs. Going to paint it up to match the cab and eventually make a fresh tailgate
  25. Beltin, there are some great people on here ?
