  1. Seriously bud anyone reading these posts might take a slightly different view of it than you imagine. Yeah I know andy and yeah I’ve dealt with him in person face to face so I’m more than capable of making my own judgment but quite frankly there’s a bunch of you on here whom are bordering on obsession when it comes to his views or posts, annoying as it seems to be to you all, people are entitled to an opinion, practice what you preach hit the ignore button, the weather is nice ditch the mask 😷 bollocks to restrictions and go out and enjoy yourselves for Christ sake. I’m pretty sure looking at the data and how far covid is down the causes of death in the UK you will all be safe.
  2. I’m no forestry worker, rather it’s the milling that I partake of but this whole competency thing can rapidly turn into a money generating scheme. In my main line of work I’m trying to keep qualifications up to date for ,CPCS, OPITO, GWO and IMCA a lot of the course content is overlapping but each authority is vying for its own training providers to be used. Current situation with IMCA is I have to do a quarterly online CPD session that started off as voluntary but a year in is now compulsory and surprise surprise comes with a £100 per annum registration fee. You can and I’ve seen it happen be deemed competent to carry out a task on Tuesday but not on Wednesday all because of an expiry date on a bit of paper. Much of it is nothing more than arse covering.

  4. THIS ADVERT HAS EXPIRED!

    • FOR SALE
    • NEW

Hi Selling a brand new unused Panther 60 chainsaw mill. Mill has not even been out the box. Looking for £500 no vat.

    £500

    - GB

  5. Already done by myself and the Mrs Mark, not sure if you think I’d not read an article or not aware of its contents. My main point is it’s received virtually zero publicity.
  6. NHS plans to mine patient records is a colossal invasion of privacy – and it won’t stop there APPLE.NEWS The justification for the personal data intrusion is to enhance medical research and improve... Totally unjustified, and finally seeing some publicity.
  7. True enough Les but I figured it’s probably gonna be someone from this part of site if it does sell bud 🤷‍♂️. If it sells fine if not I’m not overly fussed, £170 saving on rrp and still in box unused.
  8. Hi All I’ve a brand new and unused Panther 60 kit available, no pics as I guess most here will know what they are anyway and box has not even been opened. Looking for £500 no Vat.
  9. Bit of contract work in Inverness ( left to my own devices with the excavator as logs were a good way from mill) and then a day at mates milling some lovely elm, couple of soft patches but still a good workout for his 881 and panther 60 kit.
  10. South Western Ambulance Service declares 'critical incident' APPLE.NEWS South Western Ambulance Service blames "extreme pressures" for extended wait times for patients. Not a criticism but more of an observation, have certain managers become rather fond of the drama that a headline can cause !!. A critical incident declaration “really “ ok the ambulance service will be busy it’s a bank holiday weekend but talk about hype and over reaction. Seems the way of things nowadays sadly.
  11. Lol 😂 too much sun today, not used to this up here that’s my excuse. Suitably corrected 👍👍
  12. Lovely it was Andy Guy who’s it was was chuffed to bits with what he got from it, bit bright for pics but some nice boards for sure.
  13. Ok Les Lot different to the hands on feel you get with the woodlands, to tell truth they both have pros and cons. Log handling with likes of that Oak today was a different game all together, the machine is far more capable than me at the min, I am as the saying goes the weakest link right now 😀. Super capable machine Les but I think I’ll miss the 130 for the smaller detail oddball stuff I did a lot of.
  14. Hi All Mate up in Inverness is doing a lot more one off bespoke engineering tasks, anyone needing anything custom etc he’s a sound guy with a fully kitted workshop. Tig,Mig, CNC lathe, plasma cutter and pipe bender, Bridgeport milling machine etc etc.
  15. Steep learning curve and one goosed blade so far 🤷‍♂️. Bit of fencing material and some nice Oak both customers jobs.
  16. Possibly but if stuff is in the mud and buried ie not exposed to o2 then things tend to last a lot better and also a factor is the majority of the plane will be aluminium which will act as an Anode to any more noble metals nearby, ie the conrods were like new.
  17. Only one but mag survey imagery showed a twin engine configuration. Once it was confirmed as plane wreckage we ain’t been allowed back on that location. Still waiting for positive ID. The generic type of Engine is easy enough to identify it’s the actual model and an id number that can be traced that’s the key.
  18. Looks awesome. What's the length and width of cut.? 4.8m and I think 1.2m log max for a 1.050m cant if I remember correctly, I guess in reality maybe a tad less, time will tell.
  19. Cheers Bill You done much with the woodlands yet ??. Yesh I’m looking forward to getting it going and getting some money back off it. Did you try that fix on the land cruiser box ??
  20. Well Les the internet is a shit place to judge an individual if you have never previously met them face to face. Truth is im not that sensible bud nor do I possess the ability or patience to bang the type of posts some do. I judge people based on how I find them and Andy has always been sound to deal with bud no frills or pc/woke bullshit, what you see is what you get. we both work in an environment where the banter is relentless and often close to the bone to put it mildly. Yeah you are right I guess I worked in Carmarthen for a good while and also down at Milford Haven and there’s no shortage as you say.
  21. Plan is at some point to have a day down at Andy’s with it, he’s got some Oak set aside for me. We may well get dressed up in white pointy hats or trump baseball caps and discuss the finer points of Lockdowns at the same time 😀👍. Jokes aside I did a lot of research I can assure you before committing and didn’t find anyone with too much bad to say about them.
  22. Yeah I’ll be having a play with it. Big J was complimentary about the strength and amount of steel in Trakmet kit so hopefully it will take a beating well, I work a lot with polish welders etc and can’t knock the work they do. I think I’m close to what I can sensibly tow Les to tell truth. 2.4m wide and 3m tall so have to watch where I go with it.
  23. Well Les it’s a big commitment for sure, paid a chunk extra to get the wide head option and heavy duty chassis rails etc, tried to set it up to hopefully cover most of what I’ve got planned. Pawel has been sound to deal with bud throughout the whole process. Leaving the vessel on sat morning from Newport docks and heading up to his place to get some instruction on the computer set works side of things before I go home.

    Trakmet

Trakmet TTP 600 mobile finally at mine after a good few delays due to covid lockdowns in Poland and Italy. Mate took delivery whilst I’m offshore. Must thank Big J for some good advice and input whilst sorting spec and Pav for putting up with the endless questions.
