  1. If it's this one Hyundai HYCH1500 It's identical to the Rock Machinery Venom apart from the engine, the Rock one has a Briggs & Stratton. Same front handle, same tow bar, E-Stop in the same place.
  2. Priceless We had a factory manager at the factory I used to work in who suggested a grounds clean up on a Saturday morning, paid as overtime. I took up the offer and sure enough on the morning of the clean up there he was in jeans and safety boots. I was sceptical to say the least but credit where it's due he mucked right in, even in the worst places like right down in the stream and the icing on the cake was that he had 2 department managers with him (a couple of c..... to put it bluntly). A free fry up was on offer and when we met up to go to the canteen there he was with hands looking like he's been gathering spuds. I was well impressed right up to the point where he washed his hands before eating......
  3. Aye charge them £350 a day to clear windblown Spruce, £450 if they want to experience it on a rainy day Arm whipping with brambles, special offer £50 per session or free if they book 2 days working on windblown.
  4. Maybe something to be said for keeping them stock. I work with a couple of guys from time to time who use a mix of Stihl and Husky including a 560XP, never seen any problems with any of them and I'll assume as they always have the Husky with them that it isn't prone to problems. Me, I'm quite happy with my own Echo saws. I do a bit of work on an estate and they have a 576XP with Autotune, I've used it and would happily own one, it can sit for weeks, maybe months on end unused and always starts and runs no problem.
  5. Seems they either give no trouble (the majority perhaps) or they give endless trouble. Just out of curiosity, are your's totally stock or tuned in some way, even something minor like a drilled out exhaust silencer?

    Fake or not?

LOL just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you There's always an element of risk buying something over the internet, but is this saw available for local pick-up or will it be posted? Again, not enough information.

    Fake or not?

Fair enough, better to err on the side of caution but to be fair asking for opinions on any forum isn't likely to result in a unanimous verdict

    Fake or not?

Yeah I think it's legit too, nothing to suggest otherwise.

    Fake or not?

They look pretty black/dark on FR Jones website. Here I agree if it looks to good to be true but all we have to go on is the pics the OP posted, no price, no idea whether it's advertised as used or new, basically nothing apart from a few pics taken with a mobile phone that aren't any worse colour wise than the ones on an official dealers website. Could be fake, could be genuine, could be stolen, could be a bargain, who knows.

    Fake or not?

If it's a fake it's a damn good one, even the recoil housing screws are the correct type and different from the regular cap screw above the fuel cap. As for the fuel cap and front handle colour, yeah they look black (ish) in the 1st pic but the front handle is definitely grey as in the last pic both the handle and hand guard look grey. The key point is what makes the OP think it's a fake, surely you can't assume every 2nd hand Husky (or Stihl) advertised is a fake just because fakes are known to exist.

A thing of beauty for sure

    Fake or not?

What makes you think it's a fake?

Indeed, all the 250 strokers are, nicest of them all is the last generation TZR250, the ones that weren't officially imported and in particular the SP version.

Used to be a common problem on Kawasaki KR1/KR1S if they were raced in SS400, the pin actually burrowed into the piston due to the engine being revved at max most of the time, that allowed the ring to rotate and catch on the ports just like you say.
  15. I have what appears to be the same thing but branded as Beta, absolutely brilliant.
  16. Slept in as I was knackered, missed church so shifted some tools around from one shed to another (I call it tidying up LOL) Getting my wife to give me a haircut and I'll have a shave as I look as if I've been dragged through a hedge backwards!! Lovely morning here, sunny, frosty and snow on the hills, just about to make a pot of coffee, if I have any energy left I might shift some more tools around,
  17. Chainsaws - Sims Garden Machinery
  18. That's good to know as I also have the Rock Machinery chipper, I pleased with mine so far too but couldn't really compared it to anything else apart from a Jo Beau M300.
  19. Practical jokes are ok up to a point, if it's relentless and the OP is the only one being subjected to it then it's gone beyond practical joke level, basically it's bullying and if it isn't stopped it'll escalate until someone gets hurt and if it's serious nobody will have seen anything. My initial reaction was to suggest the direct approach, warn the main protagonist off and then back it it if need be but I have to agree with TCD up to a point, unfortunately these days people like to be the big tough guy until someone bites back, then they'll run to court. As for people getting precious about their lunch, yeah I agree, (don't touch my equipment or my lunch either) but if you've been making someones life a misery and they spike your lunch you deserve all you get so suck it up. While I'm not exactly advising a course of action to the OP my approach would be a quiet, serious warning to the perpetrator and then next time it happened I'd take direct and immediate action. Probably the best course of action is to report it, that way if you're pushed to the limit you have covered your arse to a degree but that may well result in being labelled a tout and an increase in both the practical jokes and being isolated generally. Tough Call.
  20. I have an EMSA flask, can't fault it. https://www.emsa.com/en/products/mobile-enjoyment/vacuum-flasks/ Amazon have them, I think the Captain is the new version of mine.
  21. That's what I do, any reason why it's not a great idea? I thought graphite powder was preferred over WD40 etc as dust/grit/etc didn't stick to it.
  22. If you have the Viewranger OS mapping software on your phone (Apple or Android) it has a feature called Buddybeacon which can be used to track your whereabouts. Uses GPS so doesn't need a phone signal. Like the other systems you still need to be able to call for help or have an emergency response procedure set in place. I guess anything is better than nothing.
  23. The Lumag has a Loncin engine so spares are no problem, http://www.lumag-maschinen.de/wp-content/uploads/datenblaetter2015/HC1000EW_V1.pdf Abbey Garden Sales actually sell complete engines, you could fit either a Briggs & Stratton or a Honda engine but why would you unless the stock engine broke beyond repair which is unlikely. As for the rest of the chipper there isn't much to go wrong, the only moving parts are the chipper drum which runs on a couple of standard bearings that you can pick up in any motor factors and the drive belts which again are just regular V belts. The only thing that I'd have any doubts about are the actual chipper blades as I would hope the steel used in the more expensive chippers is better quality. I bought a Chinese mini chipper myself, a Rock Machinery Venom which has a Briggs & Stratton engine, it's more expensive than the Lumag but when I bought mine I wasn't aware of the Lumag or I'd have considered it.
  24. Take the clutch drum off, put the side cover back on and reset the brake. Once reset remove side cover and refit the clutch drum.
