Does putting an arb back on a tipper count as a modification for insurance?
Stihl123 replied to Peadar's topic in Arb-Trucks
try NFU and McClarrons Ltd also try Arborisk (these were the cheapest who quoted) let me know if you want contact details find a vehicle for sale that will be just like you want, that you can get the reg for, and then get a quote using that -
Does putting an arb back on a tipper count as a modification for insurance?
Stihl123 replied to Peadar's topic in Arb-Trucks
yes, sadly it does i just went all through this with my defender tipper went with NFU Mutual in the end, were about £100 cheaper but good service and they look after you the amount of insurance people i spoke to that had no idea what a tipper was, frightening 😅 -
thanks for the helpful comments... anyhow, fitted a decent kit, branded as Pedders, but it's actually made by Airbag Man in Australia, that do all the kits for all commercial and mining rigs etc not cheap ebay crap anyhow, easy enough to install and made a world of difference, drives alot better too

just wrapping up the final bits of this rebuild Thanks to a couple of very good mates for doing all the technical stuff 🥰 it's never had any welding done, apart from putting a new rear cross member on as it needed to be some some when just had a stage 2 remap air suspension still left to do and a couple of other little bits. (pics won't load in the right order)
-
Those ones you use purely with leaf springs I believe Air helpers go on the inside of the springs
-
Standard height but all HD I'll see what Richard says, thank you
-
Morning Anyone fitted air helpers to the rear of their defender tipper, if so, what brand should I go with please? Thanks
-
it was just the rake i got from them, very well made i got a muck grab, got a second hand one as wanted one with decent bottom tines and paid about 700 including putting an avant bracket and avant coupling on it, so saved a few quid too

i've always used the Stronghold ones, providing you have a knott hitch never had any issues
-
does this go for all different types of strimmer line? soak it before using or what 👍
-
there’s no one machine that does it all on that subject, i had someone say to me the other day they should make an avant with a 3 point hitch and pto 🤣

not to be an idiot and derail but is there a reason it must be a skid and not an avant even if it's the smallest one, the 220 has the same lift capacity the little avants will only lift 1.4 meters high though, if that's an issue does alot less grass damage only saying as i went from an M10x skidster to an Avant 218 and for me, it was alot better, but the lack of lift compared was bad. got a bigger avant now 2019 AVANT 220 PETROL ARTICULATED WHEEL LOADER MULTI ONE WITH FORKS & BUCKET WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Manufactured in 2019 - Only 192 hours use from new.
