  1. It’s clearly hers. The footpath is a little bark chip effort she has put in.
  2. You are going to have to pay for removal, of that I have no doubt.
  3. You reckon those are ordinary purple beech pollarded or fastigiate ones? (dawyck purple)
  4. I used one (I think a 35 hp one a mate owned a while back) and own a bigger version with variable speed, we keep it fairly slow. The slow infeed on a 235 is odd at first, but after an hour you realise that you just keep piling it in and it eats everything. Well built, but expensive seems to be the concensus.
  5. Are you just trying to get traffic to your YouTube site?
  6. How lucky are we to share our lives with these little wolves?
  7. I guess it depends on how you interpret the word ‘small’ I am not necessarily talking about multiple gangs, I mean being really well equipped to rattle out jobs fast will increase turnover, Lorries with grabs, spider mewps, that sort of thing. I take your point though.
  8. I wonder what my dog thinks sometimes. Nearly every working day he sees me get my work gear on and he gets excited, then as soon as he can he’s in the pick up. He really enjoys the journey, head out the window, barking at any dog he sees, fuming at the sight of a cat crossing the road. Then he spends the day watching us from the cab, getting out for walks at break times bits of sandwich etc. Barking at anyone who approaches who he doesn’t know. Then home, a longer walk, dinner, then our dinner then sits on his chair till bedtime. For him the truck must be some kind of magical device, he gets in, is whisked through space and time to a new place everyday, does his job for the pack (me and my nephew) then the magical journey back, tells a few other dogs where to go on the way. He absolutely loves it. Totally bereft if he sees the van going out of the gate without him.
  9. At £120 I’d say it is worth a punt. It’ll work for sure, I mean wraps round the trunks works. Is it heavy?
  10. It’s a catchy phrase that gets trotted out from time to time and there’s some merit in it. But, If you’re selling widgets that you bought for a quid and sold for £1.01 and you sell 200 a week then it’s true, but if you sell 2 million then it’s a different story. Tree work isn’t a goods supply business, fixed costs are usually quite low in comparison to a pub for instance. So if you’re turning a lot of money over in this business it’s highly likely that you’ll cover your fixed costs fairly early on in the week/month/year Large turnover can mean loans to buy machinery, which will improve productivity and can be written off after a period of time then sold privately when they still have a high value. Pure profit is taxable, whereas capital assets are tax deductible. There’s more than one way to approach running a business is all I’m saying. I am no expert of course, not many of us are, not looking to argue, just encourage debate.
  11. I can’t see that referenced in this thread.
  12. According to a good few people (mostly Americans) aliens who genetically mutated apes to help them mine gold in prehistoric times.
  13. I know I’m being flippant in this thread but I honestly don’t understand what’s going on here. Everyone climbs above their anchor on occasion, the real danger is not the drop but the swing into whatever awaits you as you spiral uncontrollably on your line.
  14. I think it implies not introduced by man. Rabbits, field maples, carp, all non native.
  15. Doesn’t look good for Prince Phillip, Charles went to see him today which is unusual. Might not make 100.
  16. @Puffingbilly413 @Ty Korrigan The company is Induplates in Belgium. For some reason I can’t post links but just google that name. Mine are 500x3000, they’re 21 kg, you wouldn’t want much heavier.
  17. Bought at that size, company in Holland supplied them. I have a look when I get home.
  18. Billy Liar for the internet age. Complete waste of time, not even funny.
  19. Get yourself some road plates, one of the best investments you can make. They will last a lifetime. I paid a grand for 22 of these.
