  1. Love how you weigh in on stuff you know next to nothing about.
  2. Depends on the 8” and the 6” An ST8 is a world away from a GM 150, and will make your day a lot more enjoyable and less tiring especially on conny removals (as long as it not broken down) If it’s your only chipper I’d say go 8” (other brands are available) bollocks to the diesel and as for manœuvring on site, you’ll find a way.
  3. Saw a bit of an episode lately, thought it aged rather badly if I’m honest. Was only years later someone pointed out to me that Alan Alda was basically doing a ‘Groucho Marx’ the whole time.
  4. Corporal Klinger.
  5. For those of you old enough to remember M.A.S.H
  6. You really think that’s the important issue with Scotspine’s post?
  7. Could be I suppose, a way of laundering drug money. Not my field of expertise of course.
  8. I run my bigger saws out of fuel after use, never really has an issue.
  9. Buncha shills for big Aspen!
  10. What were the rumours?
  11. Well at least they’re working!
  12. Easy to say.
  13. Lots of work will simply disappear, people won’t want to pay for deadwooding, Fanny fart reductions, thinning, twice yearly hedge trims etc.
  14. You have to pay for what the fuel would cost from the pump if you decide not to go ahead.
  15. It’s an odd one. Whats stopping the unscrupulous from using hundreds of pounds worth of Aspen for three months, then saying it’s not for them, getting a good deal of their money back having A. Never intended to change over. B. Used it for years anyway. I suppose there are some filtering processes in place.
  16. That’s the graft point I think.
  17. I had only been out here 3 years and was just getting going before it all fell off a cliff very rapidly. I owned my own gear outright so it was more a case of dealing with the boredom and feeling of being adrift. It did cause me to change my focus away from working mostly for Brit expats and towards the French clientele, I worked harder on the lingo and started advertising in French publications. This paid off over the years as I now have a good mix (eggs/baskets etc.) The worst thing I did was buy a Land Rover tipper because I thought I’d rationalise by selling the 4wd and the transit and run just one vehicle that would do both. It ended up being the quintessential Witch’s curse of a truck, costing me a fortune and my self confidence regarding big purchases. Sounds like an exaggeration but it really set me back.
  18. Think about the pleasure watching those forks getting crushed!
  19. Or the biggest one you’re happy towing.
  20. Problem is you change the pull in once you make the rollers smaller. You can touch them up yourself very effectively with a flappy disc, in situ. Just don’t reduce the size, tickle each side to improve the grab.
  21. Saturday morning freebie for my Brother in Law. Triple plat poly rope, natural crotch, crash it down and walk away. Should have listened to Blur and Oasis on the way for the full 90s experience.
  22. I use 1 diary to write down everything, phone numbers, clients, maps of gardens, prices, dates to do stuff. It’s all there in one place. Cannot understand what the fook I wrote 1 week later, total gobblygook, still, neither can the taxman.
  23. MSM, check. Wake up, check. WEF, check. Claus Schwab, Check. Things are looking good for filling out my Moonbat Bingo card tonight!
  24. Probably the same as if we wired up tree surgeons. Will there be any damage to the lawn? We’ll keep it to a minimum You will save me as much firewood as possible and not put it in the chipper? Of course (till they’ve gone back in the house) Nobody tells the truth all the time, everyone lies hundreds of times a day, you, your mum, the pope, politicians. Otherwise nothing would ever get done.
  25. Around a grand would be a good price for dismantling and removal.
