  1. Wow!! I know, he actually shouted at me, got to admit I was rather taken aback.
  2. I mean I love it, but I don’t trust it, some days it just won’t play ball.
  3. Too finicky and temperamental. Good when it’s in the mood.
  4. I (politely for me) asked a guy to leave the phone for a bit cos we were working. ”I’m dealing with something important!” was his reply.
  5. I think weight of flywheel is a key factor, the heavier the more inertia or something. Anyway, I’m clearly out of my depth so I’ll wait for the experts to correct me.
  6. Yes, you make a good point, could be flywheel speed. My Schliesing wants to be at 1800 as well, thought that was rpm, may well be wrong!
  7. My older (in his late 70s) mate bought one of those table top electric splitters. I took the piss but he showed me it working and it was really quite good, didn’t cost a lot and saved him a lot of effort. If you like splitting by hand go ahead, but these things aren’t useless.
  8. I think they run a bit slower than that, my GM 150 with a 34 hp engine is 1800 rpm when chipping.
  9. My spaniel used to dig down to cool sand as well
  10. Are you saying the “never again” was to war or overeating?
  11. If I said I was fighting them off with a shitty stick, I’d be lying.
  12. It does a bit, some of it from me (I’m sure I shook it enough before putting it back in but the damp circle on my trousers doesn’t lie) It’s one of the pleasures of getting older to moan about the lack of fortitude of todays youth. Its been going on for thousands of years, we had to listen to it decades ago, and there’s more than a good chance you might do it long after us oldies have shuffled off.
  13. Is there a woman involved? If you put Germany in the search function and narrow it down to Thread titles there’s lots of job ads and discussion.
  14. Bumper sticker philosophy.
  15. The cat in the vid has its claws retracted.
  16. 2003 heatwave, I remember it well, we were in Croatia on holiday, miserable heat, ex communist hotel, no air con.
  17. Things change, the only constant is change.
  18. In today’s (but maybe not for much longer) job market, bollocking less than perfect workers is counter productive, they walk, you struggle to find another. All employers are walking a tightrope atm.
  19. He certainly has more than a bit of the devil about him. Generally though, considering he’s a re-home/rescue, we got very lucky with him.
  20. ‘I like what you’re doing, it’s great, I just need you to do it faster’
