  1. He wasn’t perfect, but we can’t really complain when we miss a penalty with 7 minutes to go.
  2. Love a bit of crisp cold weather, bit of a rarity here in SW France, but a real pleasure feeling the cold wind around you head.
  3. What do you do with the excess strapping for the leg loops? It has a sort of Velcro wrap that you can reel it up with, but that soon gets loose. I could just cut it off I suppose, but that seems a bit ham-fisted.
  4. Therein lies the rub.
  5. I would have thought Leylandii would have fallen to bits by now, when do you reckon it was planted?
  6. Anyway thanks for the advice for and against. I went for this one from John Mason in Darlington, only 252 hours. I wanted a diesel and like I said to dig-dug, compromising on equipment usually ends in self recriminations.
  7. Ahh, fair enough. I’m already locked in on one in particular, but thanks.
  8. Reminds me of this meme.
  9. Thanks, I’ve pretty much binned the idea of the petrol one. The internet is great, all sorts of advice/opinions, sifting through them to find the truth (or the closest to it) from those who really know is the challenge.
  10. It is that. Same post, night after night, just rearrange the words.
  11. A diesel 230, in good nick low hours. As luck would have it, I’ve been talking to someone since this thread started and I think I may have succeeded.
  12. You may well be right. I’ve fallen into the trap of not getting what I really want/need and getting a compromise solution before. It always ends with me being pissed off with myself for it.
  13. Cheers Paddy, getting a lot of different views across a country of platforms.
  14. Thanks, they do seem much cheaper, perhaps that’s why.
  15. Looking to get a newer better 6” chipper. One of these has popped up at a good price, I know it’ll cost a bit more on fuel, but will it match the 35hp diesel on performance? Which is frankly very good. TIA
  16. No excuses, this is what we need. The old ways are the best.
  17. Not lickle Princess Missy! She would never take a poo poo in the garden!
  18. Spent 15 of the last 20 Christmas days in prison though haven’t you?
  19. Reminds me of some (very) old joke I heard about two MPs chatting. One says ”why is it that when we have a vote to outlaw badger baiting only 50 MPs turn up to vote, yet when we have a vote to decriminalize buggery the place is absolutely jam packed?” The reply “Not many badgers in the House of Commons”
  20. Even on a shit day, you learn something, even if it’s how NOT to do a job.
  21. No better in France.
  22. But where do they go? My theory is they’re after the engines.
  23. Most safety workboots aren’t steel toe capped, they use a composite plastic against crush injuries. Saw will go through them no bother.
