  1. So I read the article. She’s an Indian citizen, as an Indian she cannot hold dual nationality, she pays tax on her earnings abroad and she pays tax on her earnings in the UK. What is the issue?
  2. As you reach the end of your working life, you realise that everyday where you wake up, go to work, face challenges and overcome them using your experience and equipment you’ve paid for, have a laugh, eat lunch, drink tea, finish the job, get paid, put the stuff away, go in your home, have your dinner and have a drink, well… It’s bloody magic!
  3. I remember that one Dave, Nasty. My worst one was 6 broken ribs falling out of a tree in 2012. I was 49 at the time, out for 8 weeks I think.
  4. When you see the money the councils are offering it’s not much surprise that the younger guys are going to the private sector.
  5. Those cast aluminium fins used to lose bits a lot, the problem can lie when you don’t realise it, not notice the extra vibration, different noise etc. Goes on for months and it causes other issues. Mine lost a bit off the fin a couple of years after I bought it, then again over here 5 years later. As Swinny says I thought they’d made an improved aftermarket replacement.
  6. Grinders are nasty. Every time I use one I remember Aspen Bob calls Angle grinders, Angry Grinders. There are as well. Best of luck with the recovery, hope you can get back in the saddle.
  7. Agreed, big but not massive, every branch in decent nick, minimal deadwood. Approaching it’s peak.
  8. I see where you’re coming from, but I cannot reconcile that bark with any ash bark image I can find on google images. As you say, might be wrong though.
  9. Heres one for you, à near perfect oak, just a few branches off over the track to allow tractors under, and some lifting over the field to allow the beasts underneath No deadwooding, thinning, reduction or other nonsense. Superb.
  10. The bark is acacia like, but the form of the trunk is too regular and straight. Its not like digital photos cost money is it? The branches/leaves/buds are a much better indicator, get some pics of them next time. Anyway prolly a poplar of some sort.
  11. I’m still unsure of the point you’re making tbh.
  12. This post confuses me. You keep using the word employable and employer when you’re discussing free lancing and subcontracting.
  13. Sounds disgusting, but I’ll take your word for it that it’s nice!
  14. Wife makes pickled beetroot in cider vinegar. Astonishingly fantastic in a summer salad.
  15. Alright, I’m in. The key is economy of effort. Don’t leave an area of the tree you’re working on till you’re sure you’ve completed it and don’t have to go back, be methodical. It doesn’t much matter how quick you get up there or out there, it’s your decisions once you’re in place that dictate how quickly the job is going to be executed.
  16. I think that people conflate the NHS with medical treatment generally. It’s like they think without the NHS there are no doctors or nurses or medicines. 8 hours sitting in casualty is unacceptable, yet we (you) accept it. It is not good enough and needs shaking up and sorting out.
  17. The Klou is great, especially for standing stuff. I didn’t really need this if I’m honest, but it’s an Avant one so will fetch money when I sell the machine on. I want to try it out for a while anyway.
  18. Ok, mine had the plastic tank as well. Maybe some models had a slightly bigger tank or something. I know it was a conundrum, you had to turn it a certain way and twist and pull or something, but once you had the knack it was doable.
  19. I used to do it on my 2003, a bit of wiggling and twisting but it comes out of the frame the filler cap end. Never moved the tank or took hopper off.
  20. Plenty of energy suppliers went to the wall end of last year. I just found Kevin’s post unusually naive.
  21. Then what? When do they put their prices back up, Just before they go bankrupt ?
  22. I just started putting white in instead of red, no issues. What problems do you envisage? Ps, on a 150 you can remove the tank easily enough for cleaning.
