  1. Hi Mick, I already had that issue and Redwood changed over the barrel. Before they changed the barrel it was cutting out mid chip but now it’s like the fuel is not getting to the engine form the get go.
  2. Also is that something I should look at getting redwood to do during the next service if not? Cheers
  3. Cheers mate. I’ll check the filter first :-)
  4. I’m not sure but I doubt it as it was a 2013 model. I thought it may be a fuel issue, I’ll check the filter and the injector pipes in the week. Thanks for the advise
  5. The ST6 has started playing up again. A couple of things this time. Firstly the speed roller adjustment has stopped working, could Thisbe low hydronic oil? Secondly and maybe more major when I start it up it runs for a few seconds and then cuts out. The only way I have found to get it running is to whack the throttle to full revs but I do realise this isn’t great for the machine especially when first starting it up. I only use it a couple of days a week at the moment. Thursday Friday and wonder if it’s playing up because it’s sat there for to long between being used. Any ideas or advise, I’d appreciate it. Cheers
  6. I brought a Ace winch last year as it was a cheep version of a turfor and it’s brilliant. I have a 3.2 tonne but they come in 1.6 also. I think I will get a 1.6 also at some point though as the 3.2 is great but a lot of weight to carry about for small jobs. I mainly use it to pull stumps out if I can’t get a grinder to them.
  7. Nice Vid there. I bet your ropes were pretty rigid after that one.
  8. I was thinking that. Ever play that game ‘Prapa the rapper’ on the PS1. Looks like one of those 2d characters. [emoji848]
  9. Price is a factor. In all honesty I don’t have the money at the moment but will be looking at buying around March. I may look for more heavy duty in the future but at the moment after spending the last 10 years dragging brash and climbing trees I’m looking for something to take the weight off my back and the lads who work for me.
  10. Good read a John, it has definitely made me want to buy more kit though :-/
  11. Is it really that bad? That might be a bit of a game changer.
  12. Yeah there is a supplier Tetbury. About an hour from me.
  13. I see your point about having a wheeled machine to avoid ripping lawns up. It’s all in the pipeline at the moment I just feel the small size of the boxer may come in handy and if I need to put a couple of ply boards down every now and then I can live with that.
  14. Thanks John, I’ll give it a read this evening and report back. It’s my thinking that I want to work smart not hard and the mini skid certainly fits the bill for a lot of the work.
  15. A large part of the work would be back a forth work across long gardens and such like. I’m kind of thinking at least the Boxer won’t call in sick and can carry more weight. Obviously I am restricted with access a bit but most jobs will lend themselves. It’s also going to be a useful tool around the yard for shifting and lifting. Plus will a new house on the horizon I can see it saving my back with any light building work.
  16. Not sure I’d say the bark is way off for Box-leaf holly. Plus this thing was huge.
  17. I won’t be swayed I want one to save the lads backs but I’d like to avoid buying a stump grinder as well if I can help it, one of my least favourite jobs but if I can have one as an attachment to a machine I enjoy using then it might soften the blow every time I have to take the machine out.
  18. Ahh fair enough. I thought that may be the case, I’m just looking for as many reasons to justify buying a mini skid steer.
  19. Hi all, looking at getting a Boxer mini skid-steer (not sure which one yet) but just looking for advice and opinions on them really. I was looking at getting a stump grinder also but think it may be better to get a skid steer and have a grinder attachment on it. I wouldn’t be grinding loads but just need it for the odd job. I just anted to know if the grinder attachment is any good and other than a grab what attachments may be useful for tree work? Thanks in advance.
  20. I’ll get some pics of the bits of branches I kept from them tomorrow mate and if you want a couple of bits your more than welcome, they may be a little to small for the wood database though.
  21. Wow that’s a pretty impressive Box. Yeah I’ve seen large box trees before but this didn’t look the same and as I said the bark colour didn’t have a yellow tinge to it.
  22. I didn’t ask unfortunately but I think you may be on to something here. It does seem to be ticking a lot of boxes. It can’t be that common, not in England at least. Thank you for your input.
  23. It’s not Box I don’t think as the wood does not have that yellow colour to it. I have some bits of box wood and it’s not the same. Unless there is a different type of box I’m unaware of.
  24. I’m not a weed smoker anymore but have no objection to it if it’s not in Work time or affecting you the next day. I have worked with Lads who smoked a joint in the morning before work and said to them how would you like it if I drank a few whiskeys before work? They understood and it was stopped. As for tattoos, I see no issue unless you have a profanity tattooed across your forehead. Most tattoos are artwork nowadays and I think most people appreciate them.
  25. Anyone know what this is? I have to climb it to remove a couple of branches over a house on Tuesday. Measures about 35ft and my guess would be Lonicera but if it is I had no idea they grew more than a few feet tall. Also out of curiosity is the wood good for anything? I kept a couple of 2th sticks from the branches just incase it was as sort after as Box in the wood carving world, this I doubt though. Any help would be great and if it is Lonicera and you didn’t realise they could get so big here’s proof.
