  1. Just and update on this one as it’s been a while since I’ve been on here. It was the fuel line blocked, I replaced the inline filter and no change so took it off put a airline in the pipe and blew a load of crap back in to the tank. The tank is being cleaned at the 500 hour service so I’ll leave it and repeat when needed until then. Thanks again for all the reply’s.
  2. Yeah I know what you mean but it's becoming more and more of a regular occurrence and I don't what to keep hammering the throttle first thing on these colder mornings.
  3. Sorry I've been off for a while as the app isn't working o my phone at the moment and I'm still getting used to the site layout on the net (not a dig just slow when it comes to tech). I'm going to phone first tomorrow and see what they say the fuel filter should have been changed at the last service (400h) but if not I'll order one and change it over at the end of the week. The Jerry-can I use is near new and is always topped up and never left empty for more then a day, so I doubt its rusty crap getting through, plus I hardly ever use Reddev as I don't have storage for it. Any idea's on the feed roller speed control not working? my guess would be low hydraulic fluid but not 100%. Thanks again for all your input, always know where to get arg related help :-)
  4. Thanks John, Will do. I’ve got a couple of yard days at the end of the week so the chipper is getting a proper going over. Cheers
  5. Hi Mick, I already had that issue and Redwood changed over the barrel. Before they changed the barrel it was cutting out mid chip but now it’s like the fuel is not getting to the engine form the get go.
  6. Also is that something I should look at getting redwood to do during the next service if not? Cheers
  7. Cheers mate. I’ll check the filter first :-)
  8. I’m not sure but I doubt it as it was a 2013 model. I thought it may be a fuel issue, I’ll check the filter and the injector pipes in the week. Thanks for the advise
  9. The ST6 has started playing up again. A couple of things this time. Firstly the speed roller adjustment has stopped working, could Thisbe low hydronic oil? Secondly and maybe more major when I start it up it runs for a few seconds and then cuts out. The only way I have found to get it running is to whack the throttle to full revs but I do realise this isn’t great for the machine especially when first starting it up. I only use it a couple of days a week at the moment. Thursday Friday and wonder if it’s playing up because it’s sat there for to long between being used. Any ideas or advise, I’d appreciate it. Cheers
  10. I brought a Ace winch last year as it was a cheep version of a turfor and it’s brilliant. I have a 3.2 tonne but they come in 1.6 also. I think I will get a 1.6 also at some point though as the 3.2 is great but a lot of weight to carry about for small jobs. I mainly use it to pull stumps out if I can’t get a grinder to them.
  11. Nice Vid there. I bet your ropes were pretty rigid after that one.
  12. I was thinking that. Ever play that game ‘Prapa the rapper’ on the PS1. Looks like one of those 2d characters. [emoji848]
  13. Price is a factor. In all honesty I don’t have the money at the moment but will be looking at buying around March. I may look for more heavy duty in the future but at the moment after spending the last 10 years dragging brash and climbing trees I’m looking for something to take the weight off my back and the lads who work for me.
  14. Good read a John, it has definitely made me want to buy more kit though :-/
  15. Is it really that bad? That might be a bit of a game changer.
  16. Yeah there is a supplier Tetbury. About an hour from me.
  17. I see your point about having a wheeled machine to avoid ripping lawns up. It’s all in the pipeline at the moment I just feel the small size of the boxer may come in handy and if I need to put a couple of ply boards down every now and then I can live with that.
  18. Thanks John, I’ll give it a read this evening and report back. It’s my thinking that I want to work smart not hard and the mini skid certainly fits the bill for a lot of the work.
  19. A large part of the work would be back a forth work across long gardens and such like. I’m kind of thinking at least the Boxer won’t call in sick and can carry more weight. Obviously I am restricted with access a bit but most jobs will lend themselves. It’s also going to be a useful tool around the yard for shifting and lifting. Plus will a new house on the horizon I can see it saving my back with any light building work.
  20. Not sure I’d say the bark is way off for Box-leaf holly. Plus this thing was huge.
  21. I won’t be swayed I want one to save the lads backs but I’d like to avoid buying a stump grinder as well if I can help it, one of my least favourite jobs but if I can have one as an attachment to a machine I enjoy using then it might soften the blow every time I have to take the machine out.
  22. Ahh fair enough. I thought that may be the case, I’m just looking for as many reasons to justify buying a mini skid steer.
  23. Hi all, looking at getting a Boxer mini skid-steer (not sure which one yet) but just looking for advice and opinions on them really. I was looking at getting a stump grinder also but think it may be better to get a skid steer and have a grinder attachment on it. I wouldn’t be grinding loads but just need it for the odd job. I just anted to know if the grinder attachment is any good and other than a grab what attachments may be useful for tree work? Thanks in advance.
  24. I’ll get some pics of the bits of branches I kept from them tomorrow mate and if you want a couple of bits your more than welcome, they may be a little to small for the wood database though.
  25. Wow that’s a pretty impressive Box. Yeah I’ve seen large box trees before but this didn’t look the same and as I said the bark colour didn’t have a yellow tinge to it.
