  1. We are now going to be displaying the machine at APF on the GreenMech stand. You are more than welcome to come and give it the once over!
  2. Quite a few inc these. To be honest makes naff all difference to the temperature of the chip. Timber / chip is only in the flywheel chamber for maybe one second before it’s out the chute.
  3. Yes, they hadn’t been fitted at that point when we tracked it around the yard. Now fitted along with the rear motor plates and decals!
  4. It’s on pretty much all GreenMech chippers. It helps draw heat away from the engine bay and also adds a bit of airflow to the discharge chamber. Patented to GM!
  5. Apart from some safety decals being added this morning, that’s her done.
  6. Think its 80mm new, 60 mm limit?
  7. We will be working on the GreenMech stand. And drinking beer.
  8. Controls and operators platform built up. Battery box electrics built up.
  9. Tractors and PTO chippers can sometimes be hard work in dense woodland. Tracked chippers are far superior, more manoeuvrable and doesn't tie up the tractor either. We just happen to have a few tracked chippers for sale also...!
  10. Metal or plastic tank? If it is leaking out the bung make sure the o ring or dowty type washer is fuel resistant. Often many aren't. Maybe a straight forward fix. If it is leaking out of the boss the bung screws into then new tank time.
  11. Definitely looks like the rear stub shaft from the flywheel. Do not use it!
  12. THIS ADVERT HAS EXPIRED!

  14. You have two options really. Clean the head up, chuck a head gasket in and see what happens. At best it'll be a cheap fix, at worst it'll be head back off. Or, strip the head down and take it to a machine shop for pressure testing and skim. We sent a 1505 head off for testing and skim recently. The Kubota engine dealer supplied the upper head set as well and believe the bill was just shy of £500 inc vat.
  15. Think on an old Entec, if you take the top panel off you can remove the cylinder head leaving the exhaust manifold and inlet manifold still bolted up.
  16. On the rocker cover you should have a decal with the engine model and serial number. Give this to a Kubota engine dealer and see if they can supply. Generally, if the rad has blocked and the engine has overheated properly you will of cracked the head. We have done loads over the years. Usual symptoms are compression gasses in the coolant, very hard to start cold and white smoke on crank. Whizz the head off, you can usually see the cracks across the combustion chamber. You can re use the head bolts. Always good practice to get some cardboard and lay your components out in the cardboard exactly how they came off. You could refit a 1305 or 1505 if required. But most used engines are knackered. Compression wise, serviceable limit from Kubota is 327 PSI. Ideally you want more towards 400 PSI.
  17. Very rarely a Kubota engine will blow the head gasket.9 of 10 times they'll crack the head.
  18. More progress. Cross leg booms in. Wear pads and rams to go in shortly. Hopper fitted. Wiring looms going in.
