  1. Google maps can give u a rough idea of the size of tree.
  2. Vikings is amazing! Plus gotta love trailer park boys.
  3. Use a cambium saver or a pulley at your Tip. Reduces the friction and makes moving out the branches much easier.
  4. I moved up there when I was 17 to go to the forestry college! Loved it one of the most beautiful parts of the world, and the houses are pretty cheap in comparison! I live in Bedfordshire now (not so cheap) and wish I could go back but the Bird is the breadwinner and her career is down this way. I done a bit of forestry in Scandinavia, now in lead climber for a council!
  5. I used to live in that neck of the woods! I think the majority of the work going is for the forestry commission and Scottish woodland! Their is a lot of piece work planting and spraying. As for actually tree surgery it's quite a small population (100,000 max) and not massively built up. The Scottish school of forestry is based there and they might be able to give you a better idea of what the work prospects are like in the area. Good luck.
  6. Yea it took me a second shot I found it cheesy to begin with but you soon get hooked!
  7. Walking dead, Sons of anarchy and Breaking bad are my top 3! All worth a watch!
  8. 🔫🔫🔫 ka boom the little fuckers
  9. Knock it down to 3 meters then if bits of the regrowth fall off its not too much of a hazard! Head height would be better but will won't look as good!
  10. I like climbing ash as you can get a fairly high strong anchor point as the tree usually has a dominant leader! The worst Ash I climbed were lapsed hedge line and it was the bottom of the tree that was the concern not the top.
  11. Hi all I am considering applying for a job with Bartletts and was wondering if they are a good company to work for! I guess some people on here will have had experience of working for them that they are willing to share.
  12. Husky 550xp powerful and lightweight!
  13. Haha ok point taken its gonna take some time.
  14. Wow really. I was thinking about an inch thick and maybe putting them in the oven! Has anyone tried this and have advice on time and temperature?
  15. Hi there, I have some nice cherry and want to slice it into chopping boards. It is green now as I only cut it down last week. My question is what's the quickest way to dry it ready for sanding?
  16. When having to blow a massive lawn a blower in each hand works to awesome effect plus that extra power can blow small branches u would normally have to pick up.
