  1. I've bought a .co.uk and I've also bought a .land domain. I having both link to the same place. I thought the .land one was quite good for my business
  2. Business waste direct do them I think nationwide I pay £14 something plus VAT per collection for the 660 litre but it's being upped to the 1220 for an extra £2 per collection they do weekly or fortnightly hope that helps
  3. That does not really make sense to me as water has lots of oxygen. Does that not mean it's the other chemicals in the air causing the damage?
  4. Thanks I'll try those though not a big fan of eBay (again) at the minute as I've been messed about again! It's a shame as there is some good stuff and good people on there!
  5. Hi I seem to remember a thread that had a link for filters for the parkway but can't find it. Does anyone know of any good suppliers other than ransomes themselves as they want an arm and leg for everything. Happy to pay for original parts but not at the direct prices I have been given!! Thanks in advance
  6. Give it a couple of months and you will wonder how you managed without it!!
  7. Yes and no I like it because you can see exactly how much more room you have to go backwards. In my last truck I was forever parking miles away from stuff as I did not really know where the back was. The projected position lines do help a bit as well
  8. I've got one on my navara too they are great. They help with parallel parking too.
  9. Me too I've had 36 on a run according to the computer though
  10. Hydraulic parts of machines are generally quite reliable the hydraulics should outlast the engines as they are running in oil. Just very expensive to fix if they do break
  11. An update I've found out from a separate source it's totally genuine so I'm glad I was not hasty in telling him to sod off!! He's going to come this Saturday if possible just to get out for a bit to keep his mind off things as his sister really is very poorly. He may turn out to be a good one after all👍👍
  12. Thanks both of you. I have to give him another go I think as it could be true and I could lose a good worker as you say. True about making that stuff up though if it is lies what a ****!!
  13. Not even tried with the districts too wide an area for me as jobs could be miles away and not worth the travel time. I've only git school hours to work in as I do the school run morning and evening. I imagine it's more difficult for the district councils and as you say maybe jobs for the boys or backhanders
  14. Re. Council grass cutting don't run before you can walk!! I've got 2 big parishes I cut grass for and if your not careful it can turn into a money pit! It's cost me £15K to get setup for it and that's with a 6 year old mower. And a 16 year old backup. It's not as simple as buy a mower and go cut. But go for it start with residential to give you a regular base of customers. Go and see the local parish councils clerks and make yourself known. As you can pick up all sorts of other stuff from them. When they trust you they may ask you to tender for the grass. As said be polite and reliable and also not too expensive to start with and you will be fine.
  15. I do quite well out of local parishes. No backhanders here!!
  16. I had someone not turn up for their first days work today. Phones me at 5 saying his sister has a collapsed lung so the hospital has put her in an induced coma! Then some reason I forget about no charge on phone as I was trying to decide if he was taking the piss or not! What can you say in a situation like that? It could be true but it sounds bonkers to me. Any thoughts
  17. That's just dangerous
  18. Which year navara did you have? My experience has been the opposite to you. Off road crap the rest I like. But I'm not as tall as you !
  19. More reliable than a land rover which is better in most other areas maybe? I have one for my gardening and it's rubbish off road they tyres would need to be changed to make it any good.
  20. I don't know how they sleep at all! I've just borrowed £10K for my business and I've not even spent it yet but it's got me concerned! I've never bought stuff for work on credit before for work so it's all new to me!!
  21. Etesia, kubota and iseki all do them in the top end of the market as do John Deere. Spend as much as you can to get a reliable one. I don't do much cut and collect on a large scale as its a pita. I cut around 40 acres a week though. Most with big cylinder mowers.
  22. I can understand that there is little profit in it. From talking to the dealer that's sells for that price, I'm not sure why they don't sell at RRP as he told me Stihl are pushing it and every machine they sell 2 or 4 stroke goes out with it in the tank. I still buy it for the hedge cutters as I don't use them much and it's worth it for no fumes in my face! But for the strimmers £20 plus z day is too much!
  23. I think cost is a barrier to changing pipes that seem OK. My mower for example has 11 pipes that you can see from the outside and a few more under the bonnet. At £40 to £60 plus VAT each it becomes a big bill to change them just in case. Non of them are going to hurt you when under the high pressure from actually working though as the body of the machine is in the way if you are sat on the machine.
  24. That look good my mower has hard plastic covers on the pipes that you can only take off by removing one end of the pipe off the machine which means they only get checked once in a blue moon if I'm honest(well every 300 hours) as that's the recommended hydro oil interval on my machine. The mower is ten years plus old so it needs repiping I suppose.
